There are countless beautiful roads in New Zealand, but when we landed at the airport in Queenstown and got the car provided by the car agency, we loaded our luggage in it, and now we were ready for an amazing journey.

A road trip from Queenstown to Christchurch that we could complete in about 6-7 hours because we were new to the area, but a local driver could cover this 480 km in 5-6 hours.

But we had no intention to drive fast and reach Christchurch in a day, but we had a plan to cover the distance in 4-5 days.

We had chalked out our program well in advance, so we stopped at Arrowtown, which is one of the most visited towns in New Zealand for its gold mining, lovely views, cafes, and shops.

The next day we spent a lot of time along Lake Tekapo, around 200 plus km from Queenstown, and we had a trip to this beautiful alpaco and sheep farms.

We were having the wonderful views of the Southern Alps. I can tell you we have had hundreds of road trips in our lives, but this trip was different from all the others we had so far.

We were moving towards Christchurch, a road trip that kept us spellbound all through the route for the picturesque views, lakes, and the short stopovers we did on the way.

We have seen various lakes, green and blue lakes, and rivers, but the blue we saw here was totally different from what we had seen until then.

We did biking, motorized biking, para jumping, and a lot of sightseeing on the way in different towns where we had per-booking in different guesthouses, Airbnb, etc.

I would love to mention here that we had a lunch and wine tasting experience on our way to Christchurch, which was as good as we felt back in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.

That's right, we covered this distance in 5 days, and finally we returned it to the car rental agency at Christchurch, took our license, and boarded the flight back to Sydney.

I suggest this trip is made for people who trust in exploring the world on their own. We felt this stretch starting from Queenstown to Christchurch was one of our most unforgettable 5-day' trip. We saw many more places during this visit, which I intend to present on these pages in the future.
