There was a very small village in the state of Bihar. In that village lived a poor but very honest woodcutter named Kisan. He used to do his work with great hard work and honesty. He used to go to the jungles and cut wood and sell it in the market. He used to work very hard but still he could not get the salary according to his hard work and he could not even earn two meals a day comfortably.

Due to this, the woodcutter was always worried. He could not understand that even after working so hard, he was not able to support his family easily. He always prayed to God that his income should be good so that he could easily feed his family.

Once upon a time, the woodcutter was cutting wood in the jungles of the village. There was a well nearby and while cutting wood, the axe slipped from his hand and fell into the well. The woodcutter became very worried that what should I do now? I do not even have another axe with which I can cut wood and sell it in the market.

That woodcutter pleaded for help from many people but no one helped him. Crying and upset, that woodcutter returned to his home and told his wife about his ordeal. Hearing this, his wife also got very upset but she encouraged her husband and said that don't worry, everything will be fine. Now that day the woodcutter did not get even ₹1 as his wages, so both husband and wife slept after drinking water.

The next day the woodcutter again reached the same place where his axe had fallen in the well with the hope that maybe he would find someone who could help him in getting his axe out, but he did not find anyone to help him, so he sat near the well and started crying and started saying to God that O God, you have taken away my axe too,

which was the main source of my livelihood, now how will I run the livelihood of my house, saying this he started crying bitterly. Then a voice came from the well that don't worry, you will definitely get your axe. Hearing this, the woodcutter started looking around but he could not see anyone. Then a fairy came out of the well with strong smoke, who had a golden axe in her hands. She gave it to the woodcutter and said, take your axe and now go home. But the woodcutter said that this is not my axe.

Hearing this, the fairy went back to the well and took out a silver axe and gave it to the woodcutter and said, take your axe, now you go home. Even on this, the woodcutter said that this is a silver axe, it is not mine. Hearing this, the fairy again went to the well and took out the axe of that woodcutter and gave it to the woodcutter. The woodcutter was very happy to see his axe and started going to his house. On this, the fairy called out to him and stopped him and said that I am very happy with your honesty because I first gave you a golden axe and then a silver axe, but you did not take any of them, you took your own axe. I am very happy with your honesty and as a reward you have given me a golden axe. I am giving you both these axes. Now the woodcutter came home with all the three axes and by selling the gold and silver axes he became very rich and the woodcutter's honesty started getting praised a lot in the village.
