One picture one story/ The disregarded blessing.

Get your hands off me. Josh shouted on his wife as he pushed her away in disdain. You are simply good for nothing and a waster of resources he said. Jemina tried to get a hold of his legs begging him eargerly not to leave her and the children but he kicked her in anger and she fell off wriggling in pain.

Am done with you and your bunch of useless children he reiterated one more time as he stormed off the house down the dusty steeets and disappeared in the horizon.

Hi friend, welcome to my blog. It’s one picture one story contest. Sit back and relax as I really you the intriguing true life tale of a disregarded blessing.

Jemina continued crying inconsolably on the ground where she lay from her husband’s manhandling. Her three children surrounded her as they tried to console her but her pain was enormous. She sat sobbing on the hard floor her mind drifted back to the days when she was newly married to Josh.

Josh was a loving and caring husband to her and would do anything to make her happy. Everything was great between them until her first pregnancy. All through her pregnant periods, Josh kept singing about how he wanted a baby boy. Their problem started when she gave birth to a girl. Josh was highly disappointed but it was just the beginning of their marital journey.

Hopeful for a male child, she took in again and gave birth to another female child. Josh changed automatically and started becoming distant and hostile to her and the girls. He was no longer as caring as he used to be. He started keeping late nights and drinking himself drug.

He would barely provide for his family. Jemina took in again and gave birth to another baby girl and that was when all hell broke loose. Josh turned to a monster and the marriage spiraled down the grave. He would beat up his wife and starve the children of food. Jemina took care of herself and the girls from her small petty business. She was a shadow of who she was when she initially got married.

Now Josh has finally left them. He said that female children are of no good and are simply a waste of money and resources. He called his wife names because she didn’t give birth to a male child and he impatient to wait.

Jemina picked the pieces of her lives together and poured all her energy and focus into her business and the training of her girls in school. She taught them good morals and always drummed in their ears to remember their root thereby instilling in them hard work and diligence in their studies.

Many years after these girls all Graduated from the university. They had read professional courses, the first daughter was a medical doctor, the second was an engineer and the third child was a chattered accountant. They were so bright in school that they got scholarships abroad to further their education.

They started doing well and became very established in life. They didn’t forget their mother. They came back home and took their mother to leave with them abroad. The once disregarded children have turn to bundles of blessings.

Josh meanwhile became a drunk and lived a useless life. Many years after, he had no family and nothing to show. He cried in regret when he heard of how well his wife and children were doing after the years of rejection. Indeed children are important and should be taken care of whether boys or Girls. It was a case of disregarded blessing and he lived in regret all his life.
