Straight out of Hell. Creepy. Creepy. Creepy.
The Doors tended to record creepy stuff. Obviously drug induced visions. LSD being the drug of choice in the late 60's. Looks like a bad trip in sound. Fear, confusion, paranoia... They're playing our song... wanna dance?

Consciousness is like a TV. There are so many channels. There is a channel for horror and hellishness. Some people have a taste for it. Look at all the thousands of true crime videos on YouTube. It's a money maker if the audience can get some sense gratification. Chills, sex arousal, etc...

There is a message in Strange Days... the message is clear... strange days. Much of pop music of that era was like this. Strange. Because it was a very strange time. A huge social revolution was taking place. Young people were rejecting the life style and goals of their parents and searching for something different. Less restrictive.

It's funny if you watch the official video for Strange Days... It appears that the street performers are the strange ones, but as the video progresses, they are the normal ones. Everyone else is grotesque.
