Contest: The Most Famous Festival Of My Country

In UK and in the whole Europe one of the most famous holiday is Christmas, it is a Christian Holiday and celebrates the birth of Jesus and usually celebrated as Christmas Eve on 24th of December, but real fest for children to receive their presents is on 25th of December. That is why many people wake up very early in the morning and then run into living room and look under Christmas tree for presents.
Christmas is very important family holiday and if sometimes family do not see or meet each other for the whole year they try to come together on that day. Children go to visit their parents and grandparents. The whole country has dedicated public holidays for those days and often people take a week or two off. One of the sign of Christmas is to set up Christmas tree and decorate it with nice colourful glass balls. On the evening of Christmas day people go to church and have a service because like I mentioned that is a day of Jesus birth. There will be nice songs that people sing altogether and have a feeling that they are all together a big family.
In my memory Christmas time always associated with baking with my grandmother. I remember that around this time she always had everything for baking including cinnamon, it was this smell in the air when I was entering her house. I then knew immediately that we are going to bake nice cookies. For me it was like every single shape if cookie had different taste, although it was not really so. We also prepare ourself for Christmas concert and learnt many songs for the end of the year concert.
It is very old holiday for many people it is something like was there all the time and some people believe that it was exactly like it is written in Bible. I do not know if there is anything that other people do not know because this is the most mysterious story and who knows what was in the past.
