How can people be made aware of the harmful effects of plastics? What method do you personally follow to create the awareness?
Through the media
Through one-on-one conversation.
Through public awareness
Through adult education
I personally follow the method of letting people know about the effects of plastics through one-on-one conversation. This happens with my friends, family or any one around. I do this like a friendly reminder, conversing with them about plastics and letting them know how to reduce the harmful effects that this material has on man and the environment.

Is there any ban in plastic in your area? If yes, how effective has it been?
Yes and no because it is not really a ban against using plastics, but a ban on improper disposal of the materials. Also it has been a little bit effective because backing up the rule, disposal bins were provided and made available everywhere apart from the normal bins for trash. This particular set of bins were provided just for the disposal of this material (plastic).
This action have reduced harm that could have occurred in the form of environmental pollution.
If you were made mayor in your city for one day, what three strict actions would you take to reduce the use of plastics?

If by chance, I was made the mayor of my city for a day, three (3) actions I would take to reduce the use of plastics are:
- Creat public awareness and education on the harms caused by plastics: Yes, some people are not aware of the risks accompanying the use and careless disposal of plastics. They have little or no knowledge of what it could cause to them or their environment. By reaching out to them through social media, radio and television stations and organizing public gathering.
- Replacing single-use plastics with reusable ones or bags: single-use plastics are definitely of no great importance. After being used once, they get disposed and are not even biodegradable. Replacing them with materials that that be used again would reduce the pollution it could bring about.
- Implement a rule or policy against single-use plastics: creating a rule against the use of this set of plastics and backing it up with a form of punishment would reduce the use of plastics in the community.
