A big football tournament is being played in our local field.

Saturday, January 11, 2025, that is, yesterday afternoon, a football tournament was played in our area. Through sports, the youth stay away from addiction. Regular sports keep the body and mind healthy. I love playing as much as I love watching sports. Yesterday, a football tournament was inaugurated at our Jamir Hat High School ground and the two strong teams that participated in this inaugural match were Chuadanga Sporting Club and Thakurgaon Player's XI. Although we organize a football tournament here every year, it was closed for the past 2 years. With the inauguration of the game yesterday, the curtain came down again after 2 years at this Jamir Hat High School ground.

I left home after 3 pm to watch the game. I came so early because I would watch the game sitting on a chair. But because I came early, more than half of the chairs were empty. So instead of sitting on a chair for now, I looked around and took a picture of the stage. Special guests were sitting on the stage, the chief guest had not yet arrived. After taking a picture of the stage, I sat on the chair without delay. I took a picture of the empty field while sitting on a chair. This game is a Gold Cup game. In this game, the champion team will get 50 thousand taka as prize money in steem, which is worth about 1425 steem. And the runner-up team will get 30 thousand taka as steem, which is worth about 855 steem.

After a while, when the players went down to the field, the national anthem was played. Then the guests said something to the players and shook hands. Then the chief guest opened the game by releasing a pigeon. The pigeon is a symbol of peace. The team wearing the brown jersey is Chuadanga Sporting Club and the team wearing the blue jersey is Thakurgaon Player's XI. The referee blew the whistle and started the game. At the beginning of the game, Chuadanga was on the left and Thakurgaon was on the right. Chuadanga was playing very well from the beginning of the game. They were ahead of Thakurgaon in all aspects of ball position and attack.

As the game progressed, after 12 minutes, Chuadanga's player wearing jersey number 13 scored a goal and Chuadanga went ahead 1-0. After that, Chuadanga made several more good attacks but they could not convert them into goals. I recorded a short video during the game. Today's game did not have the expected audience. Because there was a football tournament match in the neighboring area yesterday. And our biggest tournament in Parbatipur, the Monpura Gold Cup Football Tournament, was also played yesterday, due to which there were fewer spectators at our Zamir Hat High School ground. Thakurgaon also made several good attacks before half time but they could not convert them into goals.

The first half of the game ended with a 1-0 goal. Then in the second half, Thakurgaon came back with a new look. Their style of play changed in the second half. They attacked one after another and Chuadanga also counter-attacked. I was sitting with my friends Russell and Paban and enjoying the game. While watching the game, I took a selfie with them. Then I focused on the game again. Chuadanga again created many good opportunities but in the end could not convert them into goals. Meanwhile, due to the mistake of Chuadanga's goalkeeper, Thakurgaon scored a goal in the counterattack and the game was tied 1-1. Then the excitement increased even more. Then we could see the real beauty of football. The organized play and attack of both teams and counterattack. However, in the end, the game remained a draw at 1-1.

After the game was drawn, only a penalty shootout was held. But an interesting incident happened in this penalty shootout. Chuadanga scored 4 goals in the first 4 shots and Thakurgaon scored 3 goals in the first 4 shots. The first four shots that Chuadanga gave were worth watching. In one of them, the ball went out of the net. Then Chuadanga missed shot number 5 and Thakurgaon scored a goal in shot number 5. Then there was another 1-1 draw and there too Chuadanga missed and Thakurgaon scored a goal to win 5-4 and secure the semi-finals as the 1st team. The game ended here. I liked the game.
