My Role Model

To get a good idea of who a "Role Model" is, let us look at the wordings which are "Role" and "Model" separately.

A role is a job, part or position you play in something. Or, we can say it describes what we do and how we act in a particular situation. For example, in a family we have different roles where we have the father, mother and children.

A model on the other hand, is someone who shows us how to play that role really well. I.e., they are like a guide or example for us to follow. Using the example earlier, models show us what a good "mom" or "chef" looks like and how they act.

Therefore, in general. A role model is someone who inspires us to be the best of ourselves, as they are like the good example of what we can achieve, even though they might not be 100% perfect and the good thing is that a role model can be anybody to us, such as a family member, a friend, a teacher, a celebrity, or even a historical figure we've learnt about. Then again, we can also have different role models in different aspects of our life to help us in different areas of life such as:

Personal Growth:

Motivation:
Having someone as a model gives us the drive to reach for your goals because seeing someone else succeed can make us believe in ourselves that we can too.

Inspiration:
Role models show us that anything is possible even though it may seem difficult at first.

Guidance:
Role models can teach us valuable lessons on the journey ahead through their own experiences to help us navigate our own life's challenges.

Confidence:
Seeing someone succeed in our area of interest can boost our self-belief and help us overcome our fears.

Social Impact:

Values:
Role models are often seen as people with positive values like kindness, compassion, and integrity which can inspire us to live a more meaningful life.

Community:
Role models teaches us the importance of helping others and being part of something bigger than just ourself.

Change:
Indeed, with their influence, role models can inspire us to make a difference in the world, be it through activism, charity work, or simply being a good friend.

Career:

Direction:
Having a role model in our various fields of life can show us what a successful career path looks like and inspire us to pursue our dreams.

Mentorship:
Sometimes, as I have come to experience myself, our role models may even offer direct guidance and support by helping us navigate our career journey.

Skills:
By learning from those who are successful in our desire aspect of life can teach us valuable skills and strategies that can help us succeed as well.

Now that we've come to know who role models are and how they can help our lives, I would like to take this means to write about the incredible people who inspire me everyday. And I must say it's not just one person but a collection of amazing individuals who show me what's possible in life.

First of all is my parents. Indeed, They are an epitome of hard work and dedication because they have always been there for me, supporting my dreams and pushing me to be the best I can be, while also teaching me the value of honesty, integrity, and perseverance. With every opportunity, they show me that no matter what life throws my way I can overcome any obstacle with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Then, here on this wonderful platform, the Steemit family is where I've found a whole new community of inspiration. I'm particularly drawn to @josepha, @bossj23, and @ngoenyi.

Sir josepha is someone who goes about his work diligently in the best way possible and his writing is so insightful, full of life and thought-provoking sometimes which sometimes pushes me to think critically and challenge my own assumptions.

Then, there is Bossj23 who needs no introduction as he is a master of creativity and innovation. He has shown me that there is always a new way to approach things and that anything is possible if I put my mind to it.

Last but definitely not the least is our mummy ma Ngoenyi. She is the ultimate example of kindness and generosity as she is always willing to help others. I am still fond of how welcoming she was towards everyone when we gathered for the Nigerians get together last year at Uyo.

These individuals and more like ruthjoe, goodybesst have played crucial roles both in my personal life and online presence and I must say they are my role models as they inspire me to be a better person, work hard, and make a difference in the world. Indeed, I'm very grateful to have them in my life like many other steemians.
