## World of Mobile Life

Introduction

We live in a world where people spend their time not with friends or family, but with their mobiles. They express their emotions through reels or movies, rather than real-life interactions.

Here, real friends are replaced by "reel" friends, and as you scroll, you change, but lose touch with reality. While one may have thousands of followers, very few are genuinely known. We become emotional about others' family issues while neglecting our own, and what appears on the screen often deceives us.

How to Recognize Mobile Addiction

I've noticed over the past four to five years that days feel significantly shorter. Mornings and evenings blend together, making it hard to discern when one ends and the other begins. This shift began with the advent of smartphones and free data. Now, the habit has become so ingrained that even if mobile plans increase in price, I feel compelled to recharge. Procrastination has become a norm, and if you find yourself delaying tasks to check your phone, it’s a clear sign of mobile addiction.

How Mobile Use Can Spoil Your Life

Do you ever feel that tasks you used to complete swiftly now take longer? We once had enough time in a day to finish our work and enjoy moments with friends, like playing cricket, which was beneficial for our health. Now, we’re so engrossed in our mobiles that we hardly find time for these activities. This excessive use is diminishing our thinking and comprehension abilities, gradually impacting our well-being.

When we sit down to study, we struggle to concentrate, often thinking about checking our phones “just for a bit.” Before we know it, hours have passed, disrupting our sleep schedules and negatively affecting our nervous systems. If you ever question how much time you’re wasting on your phone, just check your screen time. You’ll realize how much of your life is slipping away without any productive use.

Can We Only Waste Time on Mobile?

Some believe that while mobiles can waste time, they can also be a source of learning. In this digital age, the internet offers both negative and positive content. It’s up to us to decide which to engage with, though our minds often gravitate toward the negative.

We should use our phones primarily for learning or when absolutely necessary. By doing so, you'll notice a significant decrease in your screen time.

How to Reduce Mobile Usage

Yes, there are ways to minimize mobile use. You can establish rules in your life to limit your phone usage, which I have implemented and found beneficial.

First, decide what you need your mobile for—whether to chat with a friend or study. Set time limits for activities like gaming or watching reels, using alerts to gradually reduce this time.

When you find yourself with free time, try to spend it with friends. Cultivate a reading habit by picking up good books. Ensure you allocate time for workouts as well. Initially, these changes may seem challenging, but over time, you can break the habit of excessive phone use.
