Which transport do you prefer to use daily? Is it only one or more?

Going out everyday for your daily hustle is quite a hassle and to get to your destination without your own vehicle means you need other means of transportation. Other means of transportation ranges from bicycle, taxi, buses, train, to tricycle.

I prefer to use tricycle daily to my destination and it's the only one I prefer to use. Although sometimes, I also prefer to use bus depending on the route I'm taking (because it's not all major roads that tricycle are allowed to move in my country, Nigeria).

Why do you prefer that way of transport? Is it your favourite or is it more convenient as compared to others?

Here in Nigeria, Tricycle popularly known as KEKE is a popular transportation mode used either for long distance or short distances. My reasons for preferring this mode of transportation are:

• Affordability: The fares here are lower than that of taxis or buses for short distances.

• Convenience: It is easily hailed on streets, it's convenient enough for short distance travel.

• Accessibility: This mode of transportation can navigate through areas that are congested and narrow streets, which makes it easy to reach destinations which could be difficult for cars or buses to access.

• Flexibility: The Keke drivers are most times willing to go to specific destinations, rather than using a fixed route, it is helpful for those areas that are not well-served by public transportation.

• Easy to use: Without the worry about traffic or parking , passengers simply need to easily hop in and out and keep going.

If you could switch to another transport, what would it be and why?

If I could switch to another transport it would be bike. The bikes in my country can enter alot of routes that Tricycle cannot navigate through. The tricycle have their own routes but on streets inside roads, most tricycle drivers don't like entering.

By using bikes, you'll enter routes that are just for foot. And it uses fuel that is not as much as tricycle and it lasts for a long time before refilling.

Do you think we should promote public transport in the world? Why?

By promoting public transport, we are creating a more efficient, equity and sustainable transportation systems around the world. Here are some crucial reasons to promoting public transport.

• Support urban planning: public transport has an influence on urban planning and promoting more walkable, compact and livable cities.

• This will reduce reliance on fossil fuels, it will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions thereby contributing a sustainable future.

• Improve air quality: if there's reduction on the private vehicles on road, public transport can improve the quality of air and reduce the negative impacts on public health.

• Increase mobility: it will provide access to education, healthcare and employment opportunities especially for people with disabilities, seniors and low-income communities.

• Enhance growth of Economy: efficient transport systems will attract investments, talents and businesses that will contribute to local economic development and growth.
