HWCstory-03
Nishantha is a 45-year-old father of two living in a rural village. His job was to buy old books and make paper bags to sell them to shops. So, every morning, he leaves home to go from house to house to collect old books and newspapers. Perhaps because of his poverty, Nishantha is a junk dealer. He is greedy to spend more money to buy something or to give something he owns to someone else.
Every day, he travels a long distance on his bicycle, carrying a parcel of rice cooked by his wife, to collect the first books and magazines before night. Nishantha is actually a very hardworking person. He has a strong desire to become a rich person someday. Therefore, he works hard every day for his goal. He goes to houses and buys old books at very low prices, and he does not want to pay more for those books. Somehow, he buys books for dirt cheap. One day, he went home very tired with some books he had bought in this way.
"Mom, mom, come quickly." Hearing Nishantha's youngest daughter talking to his wife in such a panic, Nishantha also quickly ran into the house from outside.
She was already counting a large amount of money. Where did you get so much money, children? That question came from Nishantha's wife.
"I found this money inside a book that father had brought." The daughter showed that book to her mother and answered her mother's question. Too look. Saying this, Nishantha took the book in her daughter's hand and began to examine it. "Here's more money". As he flipped through the book, Nishantha took the money that appeared from the pages of the book and placed it in his wife's hand. What a surprise..? How did so much money get into this book? He wondered to himself.
Where did Dad get this money book? This is our luck, Dad.
That's what I'm wondering too, my daughter. Where did I buy this book? Saying this, he shook his head and began to think further.
"Ahhh, I went to a rich house this evening". The lady there gave me a box full of books for a very cheap price. So this was one of the books in there.
"Chamari, we need to go back and give this money to the people at that house, this money doesn't belong to us." Nishantha looked at the money and said to his wife.
She also remained silent for a while, nodding her head in agreement with what Nishantha had said. Despite being a poor junk dealer, Nishantha had good human qualities. Even though it was a large amount of money that did not belong to him, he did not want to take it for granted. Therefore, he took steps to return the money to its rightful owner.
"Knock knock", hearing someone knocking on the door, Alice quickly came and opened the door.
You..? Did you come today too..? Alice looked at Nishantha and asked that question.
"There are no more books to gave. Thats are all the books you were given yesterday," Alice said angrily, without looking at him.
"No, madam, I didn't come looking for more books. I came to give you this and leave," Nishantha said, placing a wad of money in Alli's hand. "I found this money inside a book that madam gave me yesterday."
She looked at Nishantha in surprise. "Oh, this is my lost money, isn't it..?" She thought to herself and started counting the money.
I never thought I would get this money back. This man is a truly honest man. Otherwise I would never get my money back like this. She told herself so that even Nishantha could not hear.
"Here, take this," Alice handed Nishantha the bundle of money in her hand. "You are really very honest." That's why you brought me this money back. This money was money that I had been saving little by little. But I couldn't find it later. So I stopped looking for that money.
But even though I got that money now, I felt a deep impressed for you. So I thought of giving this money back to you. You can take this money and improve your life. Saying this, Alice placed the bundle of money on Nishantha's hand, smiled, and went inside the house, closing the door.
The End…

I liked your story, both the characters of the story Nishantha and Alice are the epitome of honesty and integrity, which is difficult to find in today's era, when nowadays everyone wants to earn money through dishonesty and fraud.
Best wishes.
Thank you so much dear
