Camping has always been a beloved tradition in our group of friends every year around this time of year we pick a spot pack our bags & head out into nature to disconnect from the daily grind over the years we’ve visited many recreational spots but this year we decided to change things up a bit & embrace something simpler & more connected to nature: camping inspired by all the beautiful stories we’d seen on instagram of people staying in the mountains we chose bizerte tunisia as our destination.
With its stunning landscapes & stunning natural beauty bizerte is the perfect place for this type of trip the serene combination of mountains & sea was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable camping experience i could already imagine peaceful nights under the stars & the green surroundings as a nature lover i couldn’t wait to immerse myself in its unspoiled beauty.
we started our trip early in the morning excited to reach the campsite the drive was long – about 3 to 4 hours of winding roads & scenery we passed small villages & fields as the sun rose higher in the sky there was something special about the journey itself: laughter chatter & anticipation that filled the car as we drove to bizerte
finally we arrived at our destination around 5 pm tired but excited we quickly set up our campsite the place was surrounded by tall trees & the grass was thick & soft we decided to settle down near the edge of the forest where we could enjoy the shade during the day & the cool air in the evening after unpacking our bags & setting up our tents we took a moment to breathe in the fresh air of nature
next we started preparing food we decided to make some delicious tunisian dishes: a fresh tunisian salad & a mchia salad the salads were full of flavor with ingredients such as tomatoes cucumbers olives & fresh herbs all seasoned to perfection it was the perfect meal after a long day of travel & everyone gathered around the fire to share the food
after eating we took time to relax & let the stress of the day melt away we played a game of soccer laughing & racing each other trying to outdo each other with our moves & passes the grass beneath our feet was soft & inviting so we lay on the cool ground afterwards sharing stories as the sky began to turn shades of purple & pink
as night fell we decided to go fishing near the nearby lake the water was calm & we spent a quiet hour casting our lines enjoying the rhythm of nature around us as night began to fall we gathered around the fire preparing dinner using the fish we had caught we grilled it over the fire added a touch of spices & squeezed lemon over it
eating dinner under the stars was a magical experience the sound of the fire crackled gently the fish had a rich smoky flavor & the air was cool & refreshing we sat around the fire telling stories & contemplating the beauty of the night it was a simple yet profound moment reminding us of how much joy can be found in moments spent with friends in nature
the experience was unforgettable camping in bizerte was not just about escaping into nature it was about making memories enjoying the company of friends & appreciating the beauty of the world around us these are moments that will stay with me forever & i look forward to more camping trips like this in the future
