The Diary game. A Day of Historic Moments and Simple Pleasures in the Valley
Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to share with you yet another day of my life and I hope you all will get time to read and know about one more day of my life and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.
As usual, I got up early in the morning because of the sunlight that peered through the curtains of my room and directly struck my eyes, triggering a natural tendency for them to open, which felt very uncomfortable. I couldn’t stay in bed, so I got up, performed ablution, and then went for the morning prayers at the nearby mosque. In this way, I started my day with peace, prosperity, and a sense of gratitude, which actually helps me cultivate a positive spirit and attitude within myself to face challenges in an undeterred manner.
After I was done with the prayers, I returned home and got into some early morning chores like watering the lawn, removing weeds, and doing some physical exercises in the backyard—helping myself stay healthy, enjoy the morning, and also burn some excess calories. Later, I had my breakfast, after which I was pretty quick to take a shower. Today, I had to visit the district headquarters, from where we had to move toward the railway station of Srinagar district to attend a virtual conference. For this reason, I had to be quick in reaching the district office, and it was around 9:30 AM when I got there.
Initially, I thought we were being taken to the Jammu division to attend the conference, as the Prime Minister of our country was going to inaugurate the railway bridges that will connect the rail line between the two divisions of our union territory—Jammu and Srinagar. This development will help connect Kashmir to the rest of the country by rail, offering people a more comfortable mode of travel and significantly reducing the number of deaths that occur due to landslides and the unstable structure of the vast mountains through which the highway runs, which are a major cause of road accidents in the region.
The railway line through these mountains is a remarkable achievement, and the Government of India deserves credit for this accomplishment. The Prime Minister was also going to inaugurate the world’s highest railway bridge, constructed over the Chenab River, which in itself is a great feat. It is a major landmark in the transportation infrastructure of the valley and will prove to be a boon to various industries dependent on freight transport in the region.
After attending the conference, two Vande Bharat trains were inaugurated—one from Jammu and one from Srinagar—and we witnessed these historic moments on big screens that were installed at the railway station in the Nowgam area of Srinagar city. It was not just the rolling out of trains, but the ushering in of a new era in the valley.
While we were witnessing these significant events, the heat wave took its toll on us. The shades couldn’t provide much relief, as the warm air blowing around made our stay quite uncomfortable. It was in the afternoon when we returned to the district headquarters from where we had been brought in buses. Earlier in the day, I had parked my vehicle near the district administration headquarters in Budgam district, so I had to go there to retrieve my car. My other colleagues, who had come without vehicles, were dropped at their desired locations, but I had to go back to Budgam. Otherwise, I could have reached home in the same amount of time it took us to get back to the district headquarters.
Later, upon reaching home, I was quite exhausted, and before I could take any rest, I freshened up and had a cup of tea, as I was hungry as well. After taking a nap for about an hour, I got up and went to the orchard to see whether there was any need for spraying pesticides. I spent some good quality time out in the orchard, breathing in the fresh air and getting some relief from the cold winds that were blowing.
Later in the day, I had the opportunity to meet my friends who had come to offer the evening prayers at the grand mosque of the village. Afterwards, I returned home with some groceries, and it was around 10:30 PM when I retired to sleep.
It was all about my day.Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
