25-09-2024. The poll day and my job of recieving back the EVMs in which the future of various candidates is locked.

Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to share with you yet another day of my life and I hope you all will get time to read and know about one more day of my life and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.

Today was the actual poll day throughout the Chrari Sharief constituency and it was early in the morning when I got up and started my day by offering the morning prayers in the nearby Mosque. After I was done with asking for what I actually wished for from the Almighty, I spared some time for my health and went on for a walk towards the more natural side of the village, that is the hillside mainly occupied by the Apple orchards . The onerous terrain of the side is quite helpful to burn some calories, which otherwise get accumulated in the body and ensue in various complications. I being health conscious right from my childhood am more concerned about the calorie intake and I am very empirical when it comes to burning excess calories by doing some extra curricular activities in addition to the work, I do at my home. Upon returning from the walk, I straightaway went to have a bath, followed by breakfast together with my parents who were already there in the dining room, waiting for me to return.

For today, we were asked to reach the strong room of the constituency located in the government degree College ChrariSharief at 5 PM, only after the poll was almost over in all the polling stations of the constituency. I could help my father to pluck apples in one of the orchards located very close to my house, and it was quite a disheartening scene that a good quantity of apples had fallen down due to some unknown reasons. Upon finishing the harvest, I also went to another orchard and spray some pesticides as San Jose scale disease had just arrived and had started affecting apples and if left uncontrolled, it could lead to a damage to the crop, leaving it unfit for export and will leave it without any commercial value.

Later in the day, it was at around 4 PM when I left my place towards the returning officers office and on my way to the office is the polling station of my village . I casted my vote and then left for my office to get back to my assignment of holding a counter where I had to receive back the electronic voting machines along with the other documents prepared by the polling parties of different polling stations.

It was at around 8 PM when we received the first polling party and it was quite a meticulous job to check everything which we were asked to by the higher authorities. After knowing about all the requirements, me and the other members of my team started checking the documents and the machine of a polling party each and hence we could finish our job quickly and helping the polling parties leave the station as early as possible and reach their respective places without causing any unnecessary delay.

I was a part of counter number 10, which had been assigned the job of checking machines and other documents of 13 polling stations located in the Chrari Sharief town locality. It was the last polling party which took us a lot of time compared to the other parties as they had come up without, finishing their job there in the polling station and had started doing the documentation right in the collection centre. Eventually, we finished our job at 11:30 PM after which we had to submit the different documents and machines to the authorities already assigned with the job.

It was very late in the night when we finished our job submitting all the required material in the returning officers office, from where it had to be transported to the district election office. Meanwhile, I had a lot of fun with the officials as it was a good time together, which will be remembered for long. We had our dinner, at 1:30 am on the Floor of the library of the college.

Later, right around 3: 30 a.m. I left for my place and was back in about 20 minutes, and while I was Just a kilometre far from my place, I called my father to open the gate and in this way I ended my election day.
