HWC Contest #162|| POWERUP & WIN WEEK 87 by @gduran (52 Steem).

I am going to do a power up that will at last enable me to have over 2,000 staked Steem. It also moves me a lot nearer my yearly goal of reaching 2,500 staked Steem. Why only 2,500? Because at the beginning of the year I was not even sure I could reach 2,000 Steem. Now that I have that amount, and I am still looking at over six months before the year ends, I am quite confident I will reach my goal. Man, I think I can go way past this goal with work and a little luck. On the other hand I am not there yet, so I cannot be completely sure of making it.

Well I will start out by redeeming the Steem I have pending:

As you can see after redeeming my outstanding Steem I am very close to 2,000 without even powering up yet, that is my next step.

What I will actually power up is a little over 52 Steem, not a huge amount but still satisfying.

So there it is, I now have 2048 staked Steem. I know it is not really much but just think about it, my voting power is more, so my vote does add a little to the rewards I vote for, I have this Steem staked and just working letting Steem work better (in a very small way of course). And finally it makes me feel good to be increasing the value of my Steem account. Sure, Steem's price at the moment is low, but with the volatility of crypto, it's price could sky rocket any day. Ok, I am not expecting it to sky rocket but at the price it is at today it could easily double its value in a very short time, maybe even triple it. That would just make my account that much more valuable. So yes, I think powering up Steem is a very good idea.
