Hi Friends, I trust you all are keeping well. Welcome to my new diary post. So yesterday was 26th January, the Republic Day of India. 🇮🇳 Along with that, we also celebrated the feast of Our Lady of the Forsaken, which is celebrated in the shrine at Vadodara, Gujarat.

So I began my Sunday morning early at 7:00 a.m. First we went to my church here in Ahmedabad and attended the mass here. Then after mass we had the flag hoisting. We saluted the flag and sang the national anthem. After that we left from there and had our breakfast at a nearby cafe. From there we had a plan to go to Vadodara to meet our cousins and to go to the church for the feast day celebration.

We booked an Uber rental (intercity) to travel to Vadodara. So first we went to my mom’s uncle’s house, as recently his wife, my mom’s aunt, passed away. And Mom and Dad were not able to make it at that time, so we decided to visit them now. We had lunch there, and my grand uncle prepared a very creatively cut salad, and it looked really nice. Later we then went to visit my aunt’s family to spend some time with them. We had a good time there with our cousins.

In the evening we visited the shrine to attend the feast mass. It was beautiful to see the shrine so decked out and so many people coming to attend the service. We attended mass with our family and then met many other people whom we know there.

After mass we then went back to our cousin’s place and had our dinner. My brother even taught me and my aunt some African dance moves. My uncle also had fun as he was seeing it for the first time. After our dinner we called it a night and then called an Uber rental to go back to Ahmedabad. We reached Ahmedabad by 1:00 a.m.
