🚉Which transport do you prefer to use daily? Is it only one or more?

The transportation I use on a daily basis is a car I own, which, by the way, is already a bit old, but still fulfills its purpose of moving me from one place to another. Some time ago, when I had not been able to buy a vehicle, I used to move around in the public transport that serve this city, which are also large motor cars made for that purpose.

During the second decade of this century, I seriously considered acquiring a bicycle or a motorcycle to move, especially to the places where I needed to go closer to my residence; however, once I thought about it very well, I came to the conclusion that it was too dangerous to drive such vehicles on the anarchic roads of our city.

🚉Why do you prefer that way of transport? Is it your favourite or is it more convenient as compared to others?

There are not many options in this place with respect to transportation. In general, all alternatives are limited to any motor vehicle that runs on gasoline. This means that, if you do not own your own car or motorcycle, you must inevitably take a passenger vehicle when you must travel to other places where you cannot walk. The most comfortable way to travel, then, is in a car that you have acquired by your own means, which is only provided for our family environment.

The only other transportation options that exist are the big ships, but those only carry passengers from the mainland to Margarita, the most important island of the country. In our city, we cannot speak, as it is obvious, of preferences when it comes to moving around because we must stick to what is available.

🚉If you could switch to another transport, what would it be and why?

I would like to see the rail system commonly known as the metro in this part of the country. Besides the fact that it is a transport that is capable of carrying a large number of people, it is very safe, less polluting than motor vehicles and precise with the fulfillment of schedules, when its itinerary is planned and constantly attended to. The subway becomes, over time, a part of the landscape and charm of a city. Particularly, in the years that I went to the capital of the country and used this service, I loved to watch the passengers reading the newspaper or a good book, while the train took them to their destination.

🚉Do you think we should promote public transport in the world? Why ?

Cities with a reliable public transportation network avoid excessive vehicle traffic on their streets. This contributes to generate, of course, a more peaceful environment and greatly reduces noise pollution and the proliferation of noxious gases in the air. On the other hand, a place that offers its inhabitants the effectiveness of a means of locomotion expresses its concern for the well-being of those who, day by day, contribute to its balanced harmony and development. The advantage, in addition, of a safe collective transport leaves aside, many times, the urgent need for families to invest in a means of transport for private use.
