I woke up early this morning because today, on the last day of Pitru Paksha (the new moon), I had to take out grain donations (siddha) (food donation). My husband and I had to send it to the priest with folded hands. I quickly took my nap and got ready, because I couldn't even drink tea until I left to donate the grains.

My husband also got ready, and together we took out the grain donations. We put rice, flour, sugar, vegetables, ghee, and lentils (dakshina) in the basket. My husband gave it to the priest, and then we drank tea. Kartik also got ready and went to school. Navratri starts tomorrow, so I have a lot of work to do for the nine days of Navratri. Today, my husband told me to get all the Navratri supplies and clean the temple. I said yes, I will.

I started preparing breakfast and woke Naman. He sat down to study after bathing. Then, after breakfast, I went to the store. My husband left for the market shortly after. Meanwhile, our refined oil dealer came by, bringing a sign for our shop. I called my husband, asking him to hang it up, and he said, "Yes, you get it done." My husband arrived, and I returned home.

It's so hot these days that I'm feeling uneasy again. After drinking tea in the evening, when the kids left for coaching, I started cleaning the temple and dressing them in the clothes I'd brought for Maa Navdurga. Maa Navdurga is worshipped for nine days, with aarti and havan (sacred fires). Bhajans and kirtans are held in every Navdurga temple. People organize a Chowki Jagran (a religious gathering) for the Goddess in their homes, depending on their means.

After cleaning the temple, I started ironing the clothes. I also served some food, which sometimes happens to be too much. Today, I made cluster beans for the curry. It takes a lot of time to make. I'm stressed out at work these days. By then, my husband had come home.

He filled a clay pot with soil and planted barley in it. Because barley is sown for Navratri. It's said that the better the barley grows, the better the house will be filled with happiness and prosperity.

After that, we watched some TV and then went to sleep.
