How I Prepared A Vegetable Soup Today
I feel excited to share my cooking skills today to this great and wonderful community. Sometimes I just make out time to be in kitchen and prepare some meals. It really a fun thing to do because cooking nowadays, is not a gender thing, anybody can cook if the interest to do so is there.
At least by learning how to cook, you would be able to prepare some food for yourself during emergency times or when no one is around to do it. I think this contest is would make us get closer to the kitchen and appreciate and at the same time, appreciate those who has been doing for us all the while.

Green vegetables are known to be a good source of different types of vitamins and minerals that the body requires to function well. The meals we prepare, such as the soup that I have here, have an addition of vegetable to enhance the my meal nutritional value.
Doctors and dieticians recommends that adding vegetables like the *pumpkin leaf * to our diets are very important because of its contents of healthy vitamins and minerals.
To prepare this vegetable soup, these are some of the steps that I took:
First, I went into my vegetable farm and took out some leaves from there. I am a small scale farmer and so I have little spaces where I plant some of the vegetables. I don't stress myself going to the market to get it. I only got the ingredients that used to prepare the soup from the market. At least, it has saved me some costs.
- I took off the leaves from their stem, washed and cut them as you could see in the picture.
I got my ingredients ready:
- Crayfish
- Pepper
- Res oil
- Melon(Egusi)
- Meat and canda
- Dried Irvingia
- Salt and cubes
- Some pieces of stockfish
Now to begin the cooking, I poured 35 mls of red oil into the pot and allowed to heat for 15 seconds. I brought the crayfish, pepper, onions, dried Irvingia, melon, salt and cubes, and poured them into the pot then I stirred to fry then well. I allowed it to fry for about 3 minutes. As it fries well, I now poured the boiled meat and its water into the pot to stir with the ingredients together and well.
After 10 minutes of boiling, I started pouring the vegetable into the pot and stired well. I allowed the vegetable to boil for 2 minuites and I bought the pot down from the fire. At this point, the food is now ready to eat. And guess what, the soup is so palatable to be eaten with FUFU.

A good meal should have the required nutrients to make a balanced diet. The nutritions contained this meal are as follows:

- Vitamins
- Fibre
- Iron
- Calcium
- Potassium
- Fat
- Zinc
- Sodium
You would agree with me that any meal that has the nutrients mentioned above, would go a long way to nourish the body.
