"[Contest] The Talent I Am Proud Of || Season-1".
We all have different skills we are proud of. These skills support us in one way or another, where many people earn money to assist their family in difficult times.
I am into chalk making business. I produce school chalk for both public and private schools in my community. The reason why I got into this skill is that many people do not know about this skill, and the only place they can get it is by going to the local market, which is a long distance away. So, I make use of this opportunity.
The following are the steps I use to produce my own school chalk.
Step 1:
Materials used:
Plaster of Paris (POP)
Calcium
Knife
Bucket
Chalk mould
Scale
I firstly put one litre of water into a bucket, after that, I use a scale to measure one kg of both Plaster of Paris and calcium together inside the bucket with one litre of water.
Step 2
I will mix everything together thoroughly with the use of my hand or a stirring stick. It is more preferable to wear gloves so that your hands cannot get damaged.

Step 3
After I thoroughly mixed the chemicals and realized that everything is smooth, I will now pour the two chemicals into the chalk mold.
And I will make sure they fill the mold without leaving any gaps, then I will wait for 15 to 20 minutes to remove the chalk.

Step 4
Before it's time to remove the chalk, scrappers or unused knife can be used to remove the particle on the surface of chalk mold. Then I will spread the sack that I had already cut on the floor.

Step 5
After that, I will begin to remove the chalk from the mold one by one into the sack so that the sun 🌞 can dry it for me. It takes about 2 days to dry. When you notice that it's dry, you can pack it for sale.

Colored chalk can also be produced in the same way, only that you can add color paste like blue, yellow, and red to form primary colors during the mixing of the ingredients.

Chalk has been in existence for a long time. In Africa, precisely Nigeria, it is still being used today because that's what many schools can afford. The processing is very easy when we understand the technique. The unemployment rate is increasing day by day, and it's better to learn a new skill in order to take care of our immediate family.

Wow this is totally unique sir, I was never expecting to see a post like this in steemit wow, is incredible.
I remember when I was always seeing chalks in high school, the white seems to be the general one because it is found in every schools that uses blackboard.
Those coloured chalks seems to be rare because I stopped seeing them when I entered junior secondary school. By way one of these packs is sold for how much in your area?
Yeah, in my area many public schools still use it to write note on chalk board for their students. I produced this chalk by myself where many head of schools order for it. Its very easy to clean up from blackboard unlike maker where many people find it difficult to differentiate parmenent one from ordinary.
Pack is selling at the rate of 2,200 naira which is equivalent to 10 steem. Some people prefer chalks because it last longer and also affordable for everyone.
