Challenge Theme: Getting Started with a Free-To-Play Splinterlands Account:

This week's theme is to share about getting started with the Free to Play Splinterlands account so I will share my insights on how new players can join the game and earn rewards for playing. I will also cover investing in Splinterlands to maximize earning rewards.

Creating a Free-To-Play Account:

Splinterlands is built on top of Hive Blockchain so first if you have a Hive Blockchain account you can simply log in to Splinterlands using your username and posting/Active key. If you are a newbie, visit this link and register to create your first-ever Splinterlands account. You can see in the screenshot below that first, you must choose your Username, enter your email, confirm your email, and create a Password. After creating your account you can simply log in by entering your username and Password.

Key Features:

Splinterlands is a Free to Play game but recently team introduced a Play to earn mechanism to attract more users. Now users can earn rewards just by playing Splinterlands and not investing. However, investing in Splinterlands significantly boosts your rewards and removes the limitations associated with a free account.

The free key features available for playing Splinterlands are earning Glints by winning battles, receiving cards delegation from other players, joining a guild to play brawl battles to earn merits, and earning chests on unlocking new leagues.

Exploring Splinterlands:

Splinterlands is really an interesting and challenging game to play. For newbies, it may seem challenging to learn about all things but once you start playing and learning about basics you will enjoy playing it and will be eager to learn and earn more.
With a Free account, you can play with starter cards and earn glints. Glint is the in-game currency used to purchase items available in the glint shop. To earn more glints you need to win more battles and upgrade to new leagues.

The most exciting and rewarding part is joining a guild, every week you can participate in the brawl battles which will earn you merits. Merit is also the in-game currency used to purchase the Soulbound cards that can be used in brawl battles. Participating in the brawl also earns SPS rewards.

Limitations:

To get started you can enjoy free 2-play features, but in the long term, you can not rely on these features. Purchasing a Spellbook unlocks so many amazing and exciting features like earning the SPS token which is the governance token of Splinterlands.
