Ideas Plus Actions

in Project HOPE5 days ago

You may have a very brilliant idea and may have been nursing some mind-blowing dreams, but until you have put in actions, you may not see the results. No matter how good your ideas are, they must be empowered by your actions. This is why I believe that your action is the fuel that powers the vehicle of your idea. If you have a good car for example, and there is nothing to power it, it will become almost unusable. But when you have introduced the source of power - like fuel, or any other source that the car uses, you will maximise the full potential of the car. In the same way, when your idea is created, there are lots of potential within it, but it will only be unleashed when you have taken up the necessary actions. This is the same way that the action of planting a seed is what will produce a harvest.

You will be surprised that you are not the only one that has the unique idea or the dream. In fact, others have similar or even better ideas. What makes the difference is starting and continuous actions. If you keep delaying to take actions on your idea, you will be surprised when someone else launches it, and your own may even become obsolete. This is why, as much as you are to put in the right actions towards your dreams and also do it rightly, there is a need to be timely with it. Starting on time, even if it means starting small, is far better than wasting the whole of your time waiting for when you will start big which might not even happen.

I remember what a friend once told me about her idea. She shared with me about an idea to start frying and selling peppered snail snacks. She explained to me how she would want it to be and I even gave her some ideas about the packaging. I told her to start, yet she kept procrastinating. From one excuse of finance to another one. At a point, I advised her to start with the one she has and it is not a must that she will start big, but she will grow with time. This took almost 1 years of consistently talking about it. Until one day, while she was going to somewhere, and they were stuck in traffic, she was surprised to see someone hawking the same product that she wanted to start producing. She felt devastated that someone else has implemented her idea, because she kept delaying to act on her own.

It is true that everyone has a dream of what they want to achieve, choice of career, business, places they want to go to, the kind of life that they want to live, etc. But what you need to understand is that dreams alone do not create success. What turns your dreams into success is the steps you have taken, the actions you put in place, and the decisions you make. The bridge that will connect you from where you are to where you are going to is action. Your idea will turn to reality when you have consciously and intentionally acted upon it, otherwise it will remain as mere dream.

The world is full of very brilliant ideas, but the problem is that not everyone have dared to act on them. The actions that will turn your ideas into reality will require courage, sacrifices, discipline, and may also require you to move out of your comfort zone, do things you may not have done before, and take risks. Dreamers may be comfortable because they live in their mind. But doers are risk-takers and often move out of their comfort zone. Action will always demand motion, and it is motion that produces result.

While taking action, it does not mean that you have figured out everything in details. In fact, you may not even have an idea of how the journey will look like - only the knowledge of the destination. In the course of the journey, you may be faced with uncertainties, tough times, challenges, and may even fail, but it does not mean that you will not achieve the result. What you need is to keep taking the right step with determination and dedication, and the result will eventually be produced.
