I think it was an interesting idea, but I was not thinking at the time about the clients to whom I intended to sell the idea, that is always a bad thing, because no matter how good a product is, without buyers it will be a failure.
Customers are the company not the share holders. I could imagine Jobs had invested his money into segway, it could have been one of his biggest failed business.
