RE: How Steem can survive...
It's just that the all the hostilities escalated when Justin Sun and his team tried to change too much in too short time.
In my personal opinion, the development stalled for long time before Justin Sun came in to the picture and after that there has been rapid development that unfortunately backfired.
I know Justin Sun came to picture after hard fork 22, so there was 21 hard forks before things really started to happen, but out of those 21 hard forks, a lot of them were dud (released prematurely) and had to be fixed afterwards.
Dear @mtl1979
I disagree. It's already quite obvious that HIVE chain has been almost ready to launch, even before Justin bought over Steemit Inc.
Justin never got a chance as an investor. All his decisions has been criticized, he has been insulted by many and even when he tried to reassure people, that he doesn't want to be part of governance and that he just want to make money - it also was turned against him.
Try to put yourself in his shoes. And remember that he is Chinese investor. He will think differently from us - westerners. If I were him, I would assume that first few blows came from old witnesses and that they are becoming a problem.
Let's not forget about it. Both sides are equally guilty here. Both traded many low blows. And trying to point out who started is just a propaganda. (no offence)

My family is from border of Europe and Asia, my girlfriend is South Korean, main investors of my project are Chinese and Vietnamese, so I have a lot of knowledge how businesses are operated in Asia.
What comes to HIVE chain, it might have started out of frustration when people were unhappy about the development speed and direction, but it's no excuse to start spamming on Steem just to promote HIVE. I know there is some decent people behind HIVE too, but they are overshadowed by those people who recently acted like children on Steem.
You nailed it.
