Transportation applications: savings and security? My experience with Cabify in Bogota
Hello Project HOPE friends, I hope you are having a good weekend. Today I want to share a personal experience in relation to the use of applications like these Uber, which have undoubtedly proliferated, providing various options for people, not only for users but for driving professionals.
These last few weeks, due to having to do some personal errands, I have had to use taxis, but I have chosen to use applications, in particular one called Cabify, since it is easy to use and is widely used in Colombia. I have noticed a few things that I want to share with you.
On the one hand, the savings are impressive, let's see, more than a month ago, I took a taxi to a nearby shopping center, but a yellow taxi, the traditional ones, charged me 19 thousand pesos, and it is quite close. Those are almost 5 dollars, given that the American dollar is worth 4,100 Colombian pesos.
Well, on Monday of this week, I had to take a taxi too, but from my house to the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, which is at least 6 times farther than the shopping center for which they charged me 19,000 pesos, but using the APP Cabify I only paid 24,000 pesos, which is a considerable difference, if I had used the usual taxis, the yellow ones, that trip would have cost me no less than 40,000 pesos.
As you can see, the difference is considerable, so you will understand that my decision has been to stop using these yellow taxis, and I will use the applications more, because it means a considerable saving of money.
And not only savings, but it also means that it is safer, because the applications have their records of the drivers, as well as the people who get into the cars, there is a rating system, by which the drivers try to take great care of themselves. more and provide better service.
As we can see, applications of this type are taking over, digitization is still present to facilitate processes, which is wonderful, at least for me, don't you think?
