Showcase: Nature and ruins

Hello to all dear friends and welcome back to my blog. Those who follow me know that I am interested in art on many levels, and the day before yesterday I proposed a watercolor painting on the theme of death.
Here is a composition.

It is a project I am working on for a book illustrated by watercolors, and accompanied by poems on the theme of existence.

The end of material things.

The theme of the end of the journey and existence is present in our lives, and we also observe it in material things, such as houses, temples, churches or other abandoned buildings that slowly die. Today I return to present an article that is the result of my old passion, trees and ruins in natural spaces.

The topic I deal with coincides with my studies of architecture and art history in particular with the period of Romanticism.

In this famous painting, Friedrich places in the center an old abbey symbol of man's decadence, strengthened by dry oaks, without even a leaf.
I paid homage to the romantic painting with my own watercolor interpretation.

Nature always offers us fascinating shows especially when you take back its spaces, often usurped by useless architectural elements.

While a building slowly decays, in the space around it nature invigorates, is reborn more alive, the slow dying of architecture counterbalances the flourishing of vegetation.

Life and death that alternate, replace each other and interpenetrate each other.

Vegetation comes into action with a slow and inexorable process, plants take possession of the architecture that man himself has left in a state of neglect.

Nature transforms a brick wall into a collage of creepers and grass, a tree with its roots shapes the foundations of an ancient temple or an old house, digs under it and holds it in an embrace.

Ivy, bougainvillea, branches that creep into the windows, raise bricks and wooden planks, like a green snake bearing moss and lichen.

I painted this watercolor highlighting the vast panorama in the background with delicate colors with a bright atmosphere.

I painted the ruins of a country with bare trees in the foreground, bright colors, trees without leaves but with a lot of movement in the branches.
The trees dialogue with the ruins, but even without the leaves they indicate vitality.

Vetrina: Alberi e rovine.

Ciao a tutti cari amici e bentornati sul mio blog.

Chi mi segue sa che mi interesso di arte a molti livelli, e l'altro ieri ho proposto un dipinto ad acquarello sul tema della morte. Eccone sopra una composizione. Si tratta di un progetto a cui sto lavorando per un libro illustrato da acquarelli, e accompagnato da poesie sul tema dell'esistenza.

Il tema della fine del viaggio e dell'esistenza è presente nelle nostre vite, e lo osserviamo anche nelle cose materiali, come ad esempio le case, i templi, le chiese o altri edifici abbandonati che lentamente muoiono. Oggi torno a presentarvi un articolo frutto di una mia vecchia passione, alberi e rovine negli spazi naturali.

L'argomento che tratto coincide con i miei studi di architettura e storia dell'arte in particolare con il periodo del Romanticismo. La natura ci offre sempre spettacoli affascinanti soprattutto quando si riprende i suoi spazi, spesso usurpati da inutili elementi architettonici.

Mentre un edifcio decade lentamente, nello spazio intorno ad esso la natura rinvigorisce, rinasce più viva, al morire lento dell'architettura fa da contraltare il rifiorire della vegetazione.

Vita e morte che si alternano, si sostituiscono e si compenetrano l'una con l'altra.

La vegetazione entra in azione con un processo lento e inesorabile, le piante si impossessano delle architetture che l'uomo stesso ha lasciato in stato di abbandono. La natura trasforma un muro di mattoni in un collage di rampicanti ed erba, un albero modella con le sue radici le fondamenta di un tempio antico o di una vecchia casa, scava sotto di essa e la stringe in un abbraccio.

Edera, buganville, rami che si insinuano dentro le finestre, sollevano mattoni e assi di legno, come un serpente verde portatore di muschi e licheni. Ho dipinto questo acquarello evidenziando il vasto panorama sullo sfondo dai colori delicati con un atmosfera luminosa.

Ho dipinto le rovine di un paese con gli alberi spogli in primo piano, dai colori accesi, alberi senza foglie ma movimentando molto i rami. Gli alberi dialogano con i ruderi, ma anche senza le foglie indicano vitalità.

In questo celeberrimo dipinto, Friedrich pone al centro una vecchia abbazia simbolo della decadenza dell'uomo, rafforzata dalle querce secche, senza nemmeno una foglia.
Ho omaggiato il dipinto romantico con una mia interpretazione ad acquarello.
