Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. I want to tell you about steemit keys and their uses.
I have been here for a while now, and I've learnt about the use of my Keys or password.

2 weeks ago when I joined, I was told to download a document containing my keys details and importance, I downloaded the document and made an hardcopy of it and at the same time, I kept the soft copy on my removable flash drive for proper security. Knowing how important the keys are, I decided to also keep it to myself alone and not share with any site whatsoever.

I have read all about the keys, let me briefly take you through the keys overview.

Keys and their uses

Posting key : this key is used for our everyday activity on steemit, activities like; posting, re steeming, upvote, downvote and comments. It is also prone to getting compromised due to it regular use.

Active key: this key is used for transactions, such as transferring steem and also convertion of SBD into steem and also tasks like powering down and powering up.

Owner key: this is a very important key, that should be treated with high-level of security. This key can change and reset any key including including the owner key itself , it can also be used to recover steemit account in a situation whereby the account gets compromised (within 30 day)

Master key: this is regarded the most important key, like the name implies master key, it should never be shared with a third partner, it can be used to take over account if leaked.

How do you plan to keep your master key?

I have saved in different ways, in both hardcopy and softcopy.

Do you know how to transfer steem token to another steemit user account?

Go to your steam wallet and click the down arrow,

As soon as you click the arrow click on transfer,

Step 3
Fill the window you see with appropriate info,

Step 4
As long as you're done you can use your active key to do the transfer.

Input the amount you want to power up into the window on your screen.
