RE: Achievement 2 @patienceukanah task : Basic Security on Steem

in Newcomers' Communitylast year

Hi @patienceukanah, I really like your writing style. Keep it up! However, there's a mistake in your post:

"I then proceeded to tell him about the owner's key. The owner's key is only meant for use when necessary. It is the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account including the owner's key. It is meant to be stored offline and only used to recover compromised accounts."

The owner key is indeed powerful as it can be used to retrieve a stolen account and change other keys, but it's not the most powerful. The most powerful key is the Master key, which can change every other key including itself. It's essential to keep it safe. By copying your keys out, do you mean handwritten? That's not practical, but printing them out is better, and also storing them in a cloud.

Please edit your post to clarify the difference between the owner key and the master key. Also, mention the keys needed to perform transactions and power up. Tag me when you're done!
