According to The complete steemit etiquette guide (Revision 2.0), it explain steemit etiquette as a set of guidelines rather than rules, which governs the effective use of the platform to avoid lossing one reputition while trying to make best of the steemit platform. The stipulated DO'S and DON'T are highlighted in the complete steemit etiquette guide which must be followed strictly.
Following the steemit Do's and Don'ts, It is critical that I explain a big steemit platform offense that can result in the loss of one's reputation and account in the long term. PLAGIARISM is the most serious offense which i am going to discuss in details to the best of my ability to enlighten new and existing steemians on the platform to avoid future causalties.
Plagiarism is when someone uses another author's words, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as their own. Plagiarism is defined differently in educational settings depending on the institution. Plagiarism is regarded as a breach of academic integrity and journalistic ethics. Penalties, suspension, expulsion from school or employment, large fines, and even jail may be imposed Source.
There are many restrictions that regulate content creation on Steemit in order to avoid copying. The Steemit platform has a number of techniques in place to help with the citation of one's work on the network. Acknowledgement of the person or website from whom the post's idea was derived, either whole or partially. This manner, you're referencing the content's original creator and providing proper citations.
To avoid your work been found guilty of plagiarism on steemit platform. The following rules should be put in place in your write up.
Make Use of proper quotation mark and citation when using someone’s quote in your write up to avoid plagiarism. For instance;
Originality is undetected plagiarism.
_William IngeWhen making use of image that is not originally yours, make sure only free or authorized images is used and cite the source of the image in your write up. For example;

Note: plagiarism can also be one copying one's content and not citing it. The about write was from my previous post, but I still need to cite it to avoid self plagiarism.
It jeopardizes one's academic standing.
It has a negative impact on one's professional reputation.
In the case of a student, harm the reputation of the student.
It has the potential to harm one's legal reputation.
Copying has legal and monetary penalties for individuals who break the law, because ignorance of the law is not an excuse, and plagiarism of another person's concept is no different.
After reading a series of guides on the Steemit platform. I understand steemit etiquette and how to go about the do's and don'ts in order to prevent making a mistake in my article, most likely due to plagiarized work or a lack of reference by not giving credit to the original author.
On steemit, content originality is critical; anything less is a misuse of intellectual talent known as "plagiarism."
On Steemit, learning is a never-ending process; as I continue to learn, I continue to grow in order to provide high-quality, plagiarism-free articles.
I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
