Basic security on Steem.
STEEM is a large community with different kinds of people from the four corners of the earth at such,some scrupulous element will try to create a nuisance so this post is all about securing your Steem account.
I have retrieved all my keys on steemit and have secured it. how about you? Need a guide? No worries.
First of all when creating a Steem account the first password you get is the master password . This is a powerful key that can be used to get all of your other keys so keep it safe and away from the public. You can print it and keep in a save box. Note that there are other keys
There are five keys each with its uses. They are:
*Master key or password:The first key is the master password it is used creating your account to generate all your other keys and is the special key that can be used to recover your account.

• posting key: this is used for everyday logins. It allows account to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem and follow or mute other accounts
• active key: this key is used when necessary for transferring funds, power up or down, converting steem dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar and placing a market order
• owner key: this is the most powerful key of an account and it is only to be used to recover a compromised account.It is used for changing key or password
• memo key: this key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds.
  To keep the master password Safe it should be printed on paper and kept in a safe box and also another copy in a flash drive kept safely.

  The steemit is in three forms
• The Steem which is the liquid form that can be transferred to another Steem account or powered up.
  *Steem Power which is one's investment in steemit inc and one's self or account.steem power allows me to comment and carry out other transactions. It increase my account influence
  *Steem backed dollars which is used in trading in the internal market or transferred to other account. You increase your steem by being consistent.
  To power up my steem account I do the following
  -click on the drop down box, scroll down and click on power up
  -next is choosing how much of your Steem you want to power up .there's a highlighted box that shows the amount of your liquid Steem while another blue box for you to input the amount you want to power up.

• after that press the power up button and it's done!
