Economic Diary Game | 12/02/2024 - A Day of Groceries, Fruits, Vegetables, and Household Shopping

Today, we had to complete our household ration, which we bring together once a month. Vegetables and fruits, etc., are some of the things we bring from time to time because we cannot store them for long because there is a high risk of spoilage. But we bring all the other grocery items at once so that we do not have to visit the shop again and again. That is why today I left my house with a list so I can deliver all the grocery items home.

I have a habit that whenever I leave the house, I make a list of the goods and give that list to the shopkeeper so that he can give me all the items according to it. In this way, we will not be left with anything because often we forget which things we have to take. The advantage of a list is that we do not forget things.

I took the list of grocery items I had with me to a grocery store and told them to remove my items accordingly while I did other work. After grabbing the list, I went to another store where wholesale items were available.

I wanted to buy a hair color for my father, which I haven't had for the past couple of months. Toda,y I checked with this store and found out that it was available. From there, I bought the hair color, which I got for Rs. 230.

After buying the color, I went to a fruit shop. The shop belongs to an uncle from our village. He sends fruit here because it is a Harappa station where all things are available.

My mother was fasting today, so I had to buy some fruits in advance, so the first thing I did was buy two kilos of apples and two kilos of Orange from here, along with half a kilo of dates. Apples were 250 rupees per kilo and oranges were 150 rupees per kilo. I got half a kilo of dates for 300 rupees.

After buying the fruit, I then went to a vegetable shop where I had to buy vegetables for the house and carrots, the carrots we were going to use to make sweet halwa, the recipe of which I have already shared.

First of all, I bought five kilos of carrots from here, which were thick and easy to slice. Second, I bought cucumbers from here, along with tomatoes and eggplants for cooking vegetables. The potatoes were already at home, and I also bought green chilies.

Carrots were 25 rupees per kilo, which I got for 5 kilos for 120 rupees, cucumbers for 100 rupees per kilo, and the eggplants I got for half a kilo for 40 rupees, green chilies for 50 rupees per kilo, and tomatoes for 50 rupees per kilo.

After buying my stuff, I went back to the grocery store where I had kept my shopping list. As soon as I got there, I saw that they had also taken out my stuff. I paid my bill and packed all my stuff there.

My list included all the household ration items, including our oil, ghee, supreme tea, soap, and all the necessities that you can see on this list. I bought all the items.
