🏵️THE DIARY GAME 🏵️

It was quite a busy day. On Thursday, May 22, our test exams finally came to an end. After finishing the exams, we were eagerly waiting to receive our department jerseys. Once the exam ended, we called the shopkeeper, but he informed us that he wouldn’t be able to deliver the jerseys today. This made all of us feel quite disappointed.

We called him again and asked, “Brother, when can you deliver the jerseys?” He replied that it would be around 9 or 10 PM at night. But we were adamant — no matter how late it was, we were determined to collect the jerseys today. So, we went to Gulistan. There, we talked to the shopkeeper and asked him to get everything ready as soon as possible. He told us that the jerseys were still being worked on in the factory, and he would hand them over once the work was done.

After waiting for some time, we started feeling bored. So, we left and went to a nearby park since it was going to be a long wait, and sitting in the shop for that long wasn’t an option.

Though the park was small, it was quite organized. In a city like Dhaka, people are always searching for a small place to breathe. I had no idea there was such a neat little park in a busy area like Gulistan. As we entered the park, it felt like a brief escape from the chaos of Dhaka city.

There was a small pond in the park, and there were arrangements for boat riding as well. People could be seen sitting along the pond chatting. The park was especially popular among children, with many toys and play items available for them. Various kinds of flowering plants were also planted around, which significantly enhanced the beauty of the park. Overall, it was a very pleasant environment.

After spending about two hours there, we came outside. Once outside, the first thing we did was withdraw money from our bKash and Nagad accounts. Then we headed to the shop. Upon arriving, we inquired and found out that the jerseys were still not ready. We asked how much longer it might take, and he told us it could take about another hour. After that, they would bring the jerseys over by car. There was nothing else to do — we realized we still had quite a bit of waiting ahead of us.

After that, many of us got tired of waiting there. Especially today, everyone was getting bored of waiting like this without eating anything. But since the next day was Friday and the campus was closed, if we did not solve the task today, there would be no good results. So we continued to wait with this tired body.

After a while, my brother told us that the jersey was almost here. Then we paid our payments to my brother. Then we stood for the jersey. After the jersey arrived, when I opened it and received it in my hand, there was peace in my mind. When we received the jersey, we first opened it to see if everything was in order, and after opening everything, I saw that the jersey was actually very beautiful. We were all very happy to receive the jersey. Today, the whole day's waiting seems to be over.

After completing all the transactions with my brother, I took a picture. In these few days, we have developed a very good relationship with the shopkeeper. He did the work for us as we asked the shopkeeper. We are all very satisfied with his work.

Then we left for college with the jerseys. That day, the roads were closed due to the BNP movement in Dhaka. So we thought it would take a long time to go by bus, and it was already 10 pm at the shop. So we rented a CNG to go quickly. The CNG fare was 320 taka. And we sent a message to our group saying that we are bringing jerseys, everyone be ready. When I entered the college with the jersey, I saw everyone from the class waiting in front of the college. Then I started giving jerseys to everyone one by one. I finished giving jerseys to everyone very nicely.

So, we began distributing the jerseys according to the list. When the size ‘L’ jerseys arrived, I finally received mine. I was overjoyed to finally have it in my hands. Right then and there, I put on the jersey to check if everything was in order. Upon checking, I saw that everything — including the stitching — was perfectly done. Wearing the jersey brought a unique feeling inside me. It felt like wearing something deeply emotional, something tied to our identity.

After distributing jerseys to a few more people, I headed back home. Tomorrow is our department's educational tour. By the time I reached home, it was already midnight. After having dinner, I went to bed.

After the stress of the test exams, the experience of receiving and wearing the jersey on campus made it one of the busiest days I’ve had. Yet, once everything was finally done, a sense of peace settled in — and that peace was exactly what I felt.
