As usual, I woke up this morning and went to the field. Our rice has been planted in the field, and it needs water every day. Since it is the dry season, the rice requires water daily. We water the rice using our own motor pump, so it’s my responsibility to do this every day. I woke up early in the morning and headed to the field. I started the motor and went to the rice field. This is our rice field, and it's the time when the rice is about to mature. If we neglect it even a little, the rice will get ruined, so I am carefully watering it. Generally, we don’t do this kind of work, but this rice has been planted for our own consumption. Rice is our staple food, and if the rice comes from our own harvest, it gives peace of mind. Sometimes there are issues with the rice in the market, which can result in bad rice. Alhamdulillah, our rice has grown beautifully. I hope it stays good until the harvest, Alhamdulillah.

After finishing watering the rice, I went to my uncle’s house. When I arrived there, my uncle asked me to go to the market. I asked why I needed to go to the market, and he said he needed to bring an electric machine from his shop. So, I took the bike from home and went with him to the market. The market was very crowded because it was the start of the Eid shopping season. We picked up the machine and came back home.

Goat farming in rural areas is a promising sector. With proper care, training, and support, women can become more self-sufficient and contribute significantly to the country’s economy.

After finishing all the activities, I had gone to sleep. When I woke up, I found that the Asr Azan had been called. So, I rushed to the mosque to offer the Asr prayer. After offering the prayer, I sat with my village friends and enjoyed chatting. During the month of Ramadan, the time between Asr and Maghrib seems to fly by; when we sit and chat with everyone, it feels like time slips away without realizing it. After the chat, one by one, everyone started going into the mosque for Iftar. People of all ages come to the mosque for Iftar.

One of the best moments of Ramadan is eating Iftar together

In Bangladesh and other Muslim countries, Iftar is often associated with a variety of delicious and special dishes. It typically includes dates, sherbet, onions, chickpeas, puffed rice, and various types of fruits. Everyone sits together and breaks their fast with these items. However, the most important aspect is that people of all ages and backgrounds, rich or poor, sit together and share the same food. This brings joy and happiness to everyone’s heart. Along with Iftar, prayers are also offered. People pray to Almighty Allah for each other’s well-being. This is a special moment during Ramadan. It is not just a time for eating, but also a unique opportunity for worship. It is narrated in the Hadith that the time just before Iftar is a moment when prayers are accepted.

The scene in our village is very beautiful. The villagers sit together in the mosque for Iftar. The arrangement for Iftar is made for all 30 days of Ramadan. Sitting together for Iftar creates a sense of brotherhood. This beautiful moment of Iftar can be shared with everyone. Through this, unity is reflected in society. Iftar arrangements are made in various mosques or open spaces. In these gatherings, people of all ages and from all walks of life, rich and poor, sit together. This helps to remove divisions in society.

The moment of sitting together for Iftar during Ramadan is not just a religious ritual, but it also strengthens the social bonds within our community. Therefore, if we stay together and share Iftar during this holy month, it will foster greater unity and love in society. The inequalities in society will diminish, and a beautiful, harmonious society will be created.

After finishing Iftar, everyone leaves the mosque together after performing the prayers. Then, we start talking about various topics. Afterward, everyone heads back to their homes, preparing for the Taraweeh prayers. When the Isha Azan is called, we all rush to the mosque for Taraweeh.

Our religion, Islam, is a complete way of life. Through these activities, the beauty of our faith is reflected. May this Ramadan be a month of blessings and guidance for everyone. May Allah, the Almighty, accept all our prayers in this blessed month. May He keep us safe and alive until the next Ramadan.
