I hope you all are you doing well and having a great time. By the grace of Almighty ALLAH (SWT), I am also doing well. I was a little irregular on this wonderful platform for a few days due to personal reasons, but I’m very happy and excited to return with this contest. Today , I will share one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Bangladesh— "Kaptai Lake", located in Rangamati ,which I recently visited.

"Kaptai Lake" is the biggest artificial lake in Bangladesh , situated in Kaptai Upazila , Rangamati District, Chattogram. My family and friends visited this breathtaking destination last December to experience the beauty of the lake in winter and enjoy its vastness and clamness . Since we wanted to truly take in the serene environment, we decided to stay for a night at “Aronnok”, a holiday resort located right by the lake.
Kaptai Lake is vast, and covering the entire area in a single day is challenging. However, if someone wishes to visit for just a day , they can still enjoy its beauty. For the best experience and comfortness , I recommend staying overnight to fully immerse in the lake’s charm. The main attraction of the trip was the day-long boat ride, which is a must for anyone visiting Kaptai Lake.

Accommodation & Costs:
Resort Stay: The rooms at Aronnok Resort cost 4,000 -6000 BDT per night. Meals/other services can be added for an extra charge.
Boat Ride: The boat ride starts at 10-11 AM and continues until evening , costing 2,500 BDT for the entire day. It is not for per person in a group.One boad can accomodate 10-12 people. The price remains the same for guests staying at the resort, but it may increase for visitors who book the boat ride separately.
Winter is the best season to explore Kaptai Lake. The lake is too vast and too beautiful that you cannot truly grasp its magnificence unless you experience it in person. There is an old belief about the lake that—once, it was believed to be the kingdom of the Chakma community , an indigenous group of Bangladesh. According to lsayings , a massive flood submerged the entire kingdom under the water, and it never resurfaced. Since then , the area has transformed into what is now known as Kaptai Lake, one of Bangladesh’s most scenic tourist spots.
The Boat Ride Experience :
Once the boat ride starts , you will be mesmerized by the crystal-clear water of the lake. As you travel further, you will see hills and mountains along the lake’s shores. The indigenous Chakma and other local communities live in these hills, and their traditional way of life adds to the cultural richness of the area.

Throughout the journey , you can enjoy the lush greenery, small waterfalls, and breathtaking islands. While most waterfalls dry up during winter, they come alive in the rainy season, making the scenery even more enchanting.
Several small islands are scattered across the lake, covered in green forests and hills. Since Kaptai Lake has become a popular tourist destination, some of these islands have been developed with stairways and entry points for visitors. Tourists must pay a small entry fee of 50 to 70 BDT only to explore these islands but the natural beauty is far more worthy than every penny. Tourists can relax there, take in the scenic views-moutain beauty ,greenery and the vastness from the islan and togather also enjoy refreshments like coconut water, tea, and coffee. Restroom facilities are also available for convenience.

One of the most exciting parts of the boat trip on Kaptai lake was visiting "Chang Pang Restaurant", a locally-run eatery on one of the islands. This restaurant serves authentic indigenous cuisine, offering delicious traditional dishes such as:
Bamboo Chicken – 180 BDT
Chicken Lakso – 160 BDT
Mushroom-Egg Kebang – 170 BDT
Traditional Binni Rice – 30 BDT per person
While enjoying the food, visitors can soak in the picturesque views of the green mountains and the vast lake.

Watching the natural beauty from this spot creates a truly heavenly experience.
As the boat ride comes to an end, the journey back to the final stop is just as magical. By late afternoon the air becomes cooler , and fog begins to settle over the lak e, creating a mystical atmosphere. In the distance you can see the famous Lusai Pahar (Lusai Hills), which holds great significance for the Chakma community.
The mountain’s beauty has inspired many songs, including the famous song by Shefali Ghosh,"Lusai Pathar ".

Though the mountain is visible from afar , even a glimpse is enough to leave a lasting impression on minds forever in life . The final highlight of the trip is watching the sunset over the lake—a moment where the winter sun slowly fades into the water , creating a breathtaking scene that feels both mighty and mysterious.

As the day comes to an end , tourists return to their reserved rooms in "Aronnak resort" , enjoy a peaceful simple dinner , and rest for the nights till next morning heading back home.
If you ever get the chance , I highly recommend visiting Kaptai Lake. It’s a perfect escape from the busy city life and truly worth your time and effort! 🌿🚤✨

Thank you, sir, for commenting on my post. This time, I wanted to try something new on Steemit, so I attempted this. However, after trying several times, I couldn’t pin the exact location of Arronak Holiday Resort except for Kaptai Lake.
However, I found the exact location with the help of Google Maps. But when I enter the name in the search bar, it doesn’t appear on the steem Atlas. Rather, I will try again to pin it correctly.
Maybe one of the Atlas Ambassadors can help you with the correct pin location...
