Old Dhaka is especially famous for its different types of delicious food. The food of Old Dhaka means spicy, historical, delicious food. Most of the famous foods here have been around since the Mughal period, and they were especially popular with the Mughal emperors.
Today, I will discuss one of them: suta kabab. Old Dhaka and suta kabab are related. Suta Kabab has been popular since the Mughal period.
It is said that a person named Jummun Rutiwala of Old Dhaka made the first Suti Kabab for the Nawabs. At that time, it became very popular with the Nawabs. Over time the Nawabs fell, but Suti Kabab did not fall. Suti Kabab gained more popularity among the common people because of its taste.
Today, if we have to mention the names of five famous dishes of Old Dhaka, the name of Suti Kabab will be there.
Suti Kabab of Old Dhaka is now gaining popularity all over Bangladesh. People come from far and wide to eat Suti Kabab in the Chawk Bazar of Old Dhaka.
This historical food is mainly made in the month of Ramadan. This Suti Kabab is available in the Chawk Bazar of Old Dhaka throughout the month of Ramadan. Food lovers come here even for one day of Ramadan just to taste Suti Kabab.
I also come from Sudur Narayanganj to Old Dhaka to buy Suta Kabab.
Just by looking at the situation of the Iftar market here, you can understand how serious food lovers the people here are. Or how popular the food here is.
The preparation method of Suti Kebab is also different. You have to make lean minced meat, mix various spices well for an hour, and leave it there for an hour. Then you have to put the spiced minced meat on the meat. Then you have to make a round with the pressed pieces of meat on top.
This time, the meatball has to be twisted with thread. Then, oil should be spread on the oven tray, minced meat and put in the oven. It has to be kept at a temperature of 250 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes and another five minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius. Then it is prepared by applying spice powder.
Although this is a process, to get the taste of real Suti Kebab, we have to go back to the historical Chowk Bazar of Old Dhaka during the month of Ramadan.
Our national heritage is our pride, this food is also our pride. May Old Dhaka carry its heritage with our historical food. May the glory of our traditional Suti Kebab spread not only in the country but also abroad, I am ending here today with the wish.
