Hello everyone!

Let's discuss about the world refugees day which is an upcoming day and it is commemorated each year on 20th of June.

What does "refugee" mean in your own words?

A refugee is a person who is forced to leave their home and country because of war. It can also be due to the violence or danger. These people do not leave their home and country by choice. But they do it for their safety and survival. In this way they become refugees by seeking safety and means of survival.

Is this day celebrated in your country?

I am Pakistani so I will tell you that World Refugee Day is recognized in Pakistan. It is recognized on 20th of June. It may not be celebrated like a national event or like a holiday. The organisations such as UNHCR and the government hold programs to raise awareness and to support the refugees. On this day through proper channels spread the word a out the struggles of the refugees. Moreover Pakistan has a long history of hosting the refugees. Pakistan has hosted a large number of refugees from Afghanistan during the war between Afghanistan and America.

Name a country that is known for hosting a large number of refugees. What is the current situation of them?

According to my research through the search engine especially from Google I can say that Turkey is known for hosting the largest number of refugees. It is well known for hosting refugees especially from Syria.

Many refugees there live in crowded camps or poor urban areas. It is the government and some international organizations which are trying their best to provide food, education, and healthcare facilities to these refugees. But the resources are limited. There are still challenges especially with the education and job opportunities for these refugees.

How do you think children who are refugees might be affected by leaving their homes?

Anyone who is forced to leave home whether they are children or elderly people they look depressed and sad. When it comes towards the children then refugee children can feel scared and confused. They can look sad because they to leave their own homes and schools. Sometimes children also have to leave their family which is a bitter reality about the refugee children.

They often miss their friends and the environment where they lived and grown up. They face a lot of struggles with mental health and lose years of education. Because of different fatigues they grow up too fast due to stress and responsibilities and to support themselves in the new environment.

If you could send a message of hope to a refugee, what would it say?

First of all I feel sad for those who become refugees especially the children. I want to convert this message:

You are not weak but strong and your courage is the symbol of bravery and it is inspiring. Even though the journey is hard but never lose your courage and hope. One day you will find peace and safety again. The world sees you and cares about your future.

I invite @heriadi, @ikwal, @solaymann to join this contest.

Es realmente triste lo que tienen que vivir los refugiados , no es su culpa pero deben afrontarlo , está muy bonito el mensaje que usted le envía.

Ellos son muy valientes al sobrevivir a todas esas circunstancias.

Exactly they look helpless from all sides but they have to survive while fighting their own fight/war.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your feedback.
