SFB Atlas week1 ; Eddison Park, Canberra
I am a regular here whenever in Canberra because this park is located right in front of my house just across the road.
It was raining heavily when I woke up this morning, in fact, it started last night itself, so I thought my regular walking/jogging would not be possible today, but people who know Canberra and its rain know that rain goes as fast as it comes, but today it took a bit longer.
In fact, I wanted to sing "Rain - Rain Go Away," but I stopped. After all, we need water for human life. We are short of water already, so I should not mind if it clashes with my outing routine, especially while in a walking mood.
In the evening the weather looked fine but a little too cold. I decided to go for a stroll, but I wanted to take a few photos for Steemit's post.
My walking area looked fine, the weather looked fine and sunny, so I thought I should have a short walk. I started at 4.45 in the evening from my house and took a picture to give you an idea of how close the park is to my house.
I came out on the main road through the opening in the fencing on the walking path. I crossed the road to the other side, and the first thing I saw was a couple of kangaroos having fun, but they were about 50 meters away. I took a few pictures, although they are not clear.
I was on the main road now and crossed through the zebra crossing at the first entrance. I wanted to walk further, but then I saw it was cloudy again. The light started to deteriorate so the quality of pictures has gone down. I wish I would have brought my SLR camera instead of this newly bought small one.
This park is not only a recreation center but also a lifeline for the sports lovers. This park is also the entry into the Woden Mall for people who love to walk. This park is situated right in the heart of Canberra City, and the best part is that it's across the road.
It's been a long work since it has an old story that goes with Australia and New Zealand World War martyrs. Eddison Park's design was developed through an intensive and iterative process and long planning, as this park is considered one of the best in the world.
And what's more, it's an ongoing process to provide opportunities to the local community to participate within the park. The play journey was developed by children through the games at a big playground within Eddison Park.
Eddison Park has a wide range of facilities for the entire family, such as play areas for children, including a skate park, playgrounds with different swings, climbing equipment, and colored synthetic paths for racing.
There is a beautiful pond full of ducks and a fountain. I love this fitness and exercise equipment area and the walking/running track.
As I said, the park's atmosphere is generally peaceful and safe, and people do not talk to each other much, but you can see several picnicking groups on weekends.

But then as I said the weather was deteriorating so the pictures were not clear. I came back home. I spent a few minutes again in the park this morning and took a few more photos as the weather is clear and sunny.
This park has scooter and skating facilities. And yes, if you have a pet, you can bring him here.
Eddison Park is a perfect place that provides its visitors A range of facilities, including the water play and periodical play workshops.
The park has ample space for all ages, including children.
This area has a sand pit, a rope bridge, a mound and tunnel, a big meeting tree, and a sensory garden with opportunities to explore touch, smell, eat, hide, crawl, squeeze, and taste and not to forget the bird hides.
The Eddison Park has a disc course with a 10-basket layout and includes a practice basket. This course includes turf tee pads, marked 10m circles, and full signage. This course starts from the main parking area close to the skate park.

People come to rest and enjoy here or maybe sort of picnic, under the beautiful trees. Eddison park with wonderful features has something to offer to everyone especially for families with children, but for everyone trying to relax and have a peaceful time. As I said earlier I love it for the views and feel it as an ultimate paradise for a walker and jogger like me.
There is no entrance fee.
The park is open 24 hours a day.
The City Council makes all the arrangements free of cost.
As I have mentioned it time and again, the city transport reduces the transportation to almost free to all commuters to promote the use of public transport. They charge at reduced rate once for any number of trips during the weekends to "My Way" card holders.
I invite @sur-riti, @pea07 and @muzack1 to show their places of interest in the contest started by @solaymann.
