Hi, my dear Steemian friends,

What kind of fuel is your country's transportation powered by?

In our country, petrol, diesel, CNG, biodiesel, liquid petroleum gas, ethanol which is mixed with petrol, methanol which is used as fuel in racing cars, and antifreeze. Apart from this, hydrogen, hybrid vehicles, which run on both electricity and petrol, and solar power apart from electric are also used.

Which of the modes of transportation is more popular in your country?

We have tens of different modes of transportation, for instance, trains, cars, airplanes, light trucks, heavy trucks, tempo, metro trains, local trains, autorickshaws, bikes, motorbikes, scooters, ships, steamers, helicopters, and more, including jugad, which is not an official transport vehicle but used commonly in rural areas.

Besides tractors, another transport system is basically used for agricultural purposes, but in rural areas, you can see it used for transportation of goods and as a public transport system.

Tell us about at least three of transportation that exist in your area.
  1. The most favorite transport system in our country is the railway used by the general public. Would you believe that India is one of the biggest railway networks, with almost 23,000 trains running that carry 25 million passengers every day? And that's not all. Indian railways transport more than 200 million metric tonnes of goods daily as well.

  1. I would say the second most used transport by Indians is public buses. Let me give you a rough idea. India has 150,000 buses run by public transport, but if you ask for the total number of buses, then the number will touch over 2.5 million, mostly run on diesel, CNG, and electric.

  2. India has more than 32 million passenger cars, with an average of one car for every 40 people. As far as I am concerned, I have three cars in my family, but there are none in India, although my two brothers and all other relatives have their personal cars. Right now I have a scooter for my daily needs.

What is the cost of transportation used in your area?

That's a typical question with a varied answer. If you ask us in per-kilometer terms, it could be anything from INR 1 to INR 5, depending on what transport system and what facility you wish to use. But if you wish to know about local transport, we can cover most local distances at an average of INR 1 to 5 (equivalent to 0.5 to 0.25 Steem) per kilometer on an average depending vehiclecal used.

However, if you wish to travel long distances, the cost depends on transport and the class you travel in. For instance, a train ticket from Delhi to Mumbai can cost you INR 300 to INR 6000 (or about 16-350 Steem) or an airplane ticket about INR 7000 or roughly 400 Steem.

Thank you so much, I am sure you know as much as I do about the Indian transport system and how we take advantage of public transport even if it's too crowded. Thanks again.

The most favorite transport system in our country is the railway.

Is very rare you see people enter train over here because it was long dead due to poor maintenance from the government. It’s just few years ago , that the government started reviving the railway sector.

There are so many of us that have never entered train since we were born but I’ll try it out one day

We have a wide range of world-class railways starting from the small gauge, meter gauge, and broad gauge. Just imagine 25 million passengers traveling short and long distances every day.
