I hope all the readers are enveloped with happiness and beautiful moments as I am when I write this. When I let my heart speak, I can express happiness and thankfulness for this day that has just passed. Like any other day, I performed my morning maternal jobs, but the chilly winter made the ordinary look magical. Waking up early in the morning I started my day with the ‘Gurer Cha’ a hot flavored tea that sesame instantly feels my spirit. By ensuring that I started the day with so much faith in our togetherness, it possible to have a day that filled with celebration and joy.

We are celebrating today as our Victory Day 16th of December, the day which is memorized by each citizen of Bangladesh. To celebrate this auspicious event, we were exposed to the joyful Bijoy Mela, a spirited programmed for the freedom and the unity. Since it fell on a holiday my husband was able to join me and this made everything even more enjoyable. In the morning after taking my breakfast, I wore a beautiful green and red saree as the dress code depicts our national flag’s colors and added some formal touch to the outfits for the day occasion. My husband also complemented the theme appropriately in his Panjabi and together we went out to celebrate the occasion.

The venue was an open field and everybody was active for the event and there was good decoration having importance to that day. Tasty food and rich colored goods were set upon the stands with good cheer making the atmosphere joyous. When wandering around, I became acquainted with many bhabis and friends, being photographed together. Much to my surprise, I saw my picture printed at the banner in front of the Community Welfare Office. The sight filled me with pride, and then it made the want take a photograph beside it as a memorable one.

During the celebration, one of the ornaments that we found interesting was a swing decorated so beautifully. The floral decorations were beautiful and we could not stop taking so many pictures, every picture screamed joy. We pampered ourselves with yummy foods, exchanged jokes, and listened to jokes with friends amidst having a friendly chat. Each time appeared to be a representational harmony.

We relaxed in the festive environment; then we went to my husband’s workplace, as the Commandant bhabi wanted to spend time with us before her farewel. The party was friendly and everyone had much to discuss during the night. The moments I got with my children made the day lively, we were all playing and running around, not to mention that the children were rather stubborn when it came to having their pictures taken. It made me smile, every little giggle they made filled the room and made the day a little special.

Then, I got some time to relax back home and surprisingly had an aesthetic experience of decorating my balcony with some tea and a calm evening.

Finally, my husband and I watched Tamil movie which was completely a relief from the day’s activities. The meal was a bowl of ramen that I made for myself — clean and straightforward and the perfect way to end a day.

At this moment I write this, I am overwhelmed with joy especially for a day that was filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Victory Day speaks of our nations strong and unyielding spirit and today I felt it every moment of today. Cheers for keeping these memories and this joy to the future days.
