"Wedding event"
Marriage is a social bond that is concluded between two people of the opposite sex by mutual consent. Marriage creates an important bond between two families and society. In Islam, marriage is a sacred bond that is compared to worship in Islam. Marriage is based on mutual love, respect, and responsibility between husband and wife. Marriage helps to build the character of two men and women and protect them from sin. Marriage is an obligatory matter in Islam and the important thing about marriage is for both men and women.
I thank @mostofajaman for organizing a competition on such a topic. In this topic, we can learn about the marriage customs and how marriage is viewed in different regions and countries. I am going to share my thoughts about marriage.
A wedding is always a joyful event that excites me. Since marriage is a social event, we are socially happy in it. I always enjoy wedding ceremonies. A wedding ceremony means meeting many familiar people. There is something about the decoration in a wedding that is interesting.
I attend weddings among my family and relatives and also attend the weddings of my friends and close relatives. I don't like too much fuss so when I go to a wedding, I enjoy the dancing and singing of others most of the time. I don't always come back from a wedding with joy, I have had some bitter experiences in marriages.
I was at a neighbor's sister's wedding and our sons were responsible for feeding the guests who came to the wedding. We were doing our duty properly, but there was a problem with the number of guests, which was more than the food arranged for the wedding. Although the number of guests was informed in advance by the son, there was a problem because the guests came much more than that number and there was a dispute between the two parties, although the seniors controlled the matter in some time. Even with the joy of marriage, there are many incidents that can ruin the joy of marriage for trivial reasons.
I have not yet had the opportunity to get married (bound in holy bonds). Every unmarried person has a dream of how they will spend their wedding day and how they will dress. The wedding day is the centerpiece of the ceremony, so every unmarried boy and girl has a lot of expectations about this day.
I do not have any high plans for my marriage. I want to organize the wedding activities on a very small scale, comparing marriage with holy bonds and worship. According to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), a marriage with a small budget is more blessed. Also, I want to spend money on my future life instead of wasting money on marriage. I want to prioritize the joy of my wedding day over the joy of my married life, so this is my plan.
There are many wedding customs in my area that are not against Islam. I still want to share those customs with you.
Mehndi Ceremony: Before the wedding, henna is applied to the hands of both the boy and the girl, especially the young children, and in this ceremony, only henna is used to paint the hands.
Turmeric Program: A ceremony at a wedding where the bride and groom are smeared with turmeric at their own home and this turmeric is not applied by the bride and groom themselves but by others. Many people consider it as a blessing before the wedding. There are many rules to follow in this turmeric ceremony, such as 5 people are required to grind raw turmeric, and various tools are used to decorate the turmeric stalks for good luck (rice, durbaghas, sweets, coins, turmeric paste).
Wedding: When going to get married, a turban is put on the head of the groom by 5 elders. There are also many other small rules that are observed socially.
I invite @ulfatulrahmah @damithudaya @memamun you to participate in this competition and you can comment whether the marriage rules of your area or country are the same or different from these rules.
