Drinking saline water to replenish water loss in the intense heat

Assalamu Alaikum,
Saline is a good ingredient for us to protect ourselves from dehydration in extreme temperatures. I and some of my workers have been working in extreme temperatures regularly for a few days and this will continue for us for a few more days. After lifting the nuts from the ground to dry them, they have to be dried in the sun for a minimum of three days. Today's diary blog is going to be about our hard struggle in extreme temperatures and sustaining ourselves.

First task of the day

Our first task in the morning is to spread the almond trees that were picked by the workers working on a contract basis the previous day in the sun. The sun is very strong this morning. We will first spread our raw nuts, so we first have to clean up the excess nuts and make room for them. We are finishing the first task in about 1 hour.

Resting under the shade of a tree during breaks is an endless blessing from Allah.

Now we have to take a break for our survival. We all came under the tree and are resting. It is going through a very difficult time. The temperature has crossed 34 degrees in the morning. We sat here and rested for about 30 minutes and cooled down.

Second task of the day

Our second task is to shake the soil off the almond trees that were spread yesterday. We have started our second task. We are working together with 3 brothers and 5 workers. As per our plan, the sooner we can finish this almond work, the better. We are checking the weather forecast and working because the rainy season has arrived and now the land will be waterlogged with a little rain.

Making and drinking saline water

Our initial work of the day is over, now it's time to take a break. I was sent to bring saline. Saline is a very effective ingredient for filling the water gap. I brought saline and a bottle of cold water from the fridge from home. There is a woman among our workers who makes saline water and gives it to everyone. We are now coming under the bamboo grove, it feels colder here than anywhere else. Some are rolling around on the ground (taking a short nap).

The workers have started working again, this time we will prune the almond trees that are almost dry. These almonds were submerged under water, due to which a lot of soil is stuck to the almonds and the color of the almonds has been lost. It is time for our lunch with these almonds, I also returned home after the workers' lunch break.

All the water I drink is coming out as sweat.

I still have work to do when I get home. The corn at our house has not yet been dried to 14% moisture. I have to put it in the sun. I spread the corn sacks in our yard with a net. I got even more tired doing this. Sweat was pouring from my body, there was load shedding, I took off my shirt and sat under a tree. I won't be going to work today, so I took a bath, ate lunch and went to sleep.

I went to the field in the afternoon. If I don't have work now, I will have to chase the goats away from the scattered almond fields. In the vast field, there is no other crop except our almonds. Many people have left their goats in this field, which is why these goats come to eat the almonds. I come to the field in the afternoon and wait for these goats to return home. It is getting dark when an old woman is returning home with her flock of goats.

I am still in the field. The sun is setting, leaving behind a red glow. I am enjoying the beauty of that twilight. The silence around is oppressive heat, and occasionally a gust of cold wind is giving a feeling of coolness. I will stay till evening, the moon has risen in the eastern sky. I have to go back home now. Even though it is difficult in the intense sun, the sun is needed to bring home the almond crop, so I accept the hardship with a smile.

Thank You
