Steemit has been something that has been kept to only some group and circle of people in my faculty (i.e faculty of Agriculture, University of Uyo) because i have seen alot of them there but not until i met someone i will externally be grateful to.

On a faithful day, i went to the hostel to see a friend of mine @ebedossantos on getting here, i heard a roommate of his who is also colleague of mine in the same faculty too talking about steemit to his roommates, he @joelmaxwell was pratically evangelizing steemit to his roommate with so much clarity to the deriment of us wasting our data on other social media platforms, at that point i became interested. He @joelmaxwell started baptising(initiation per say) us into the steemit family by registering those interested using his own shared hotspot network.

Why i choose to join steemit

I choose to joined steemit because of the plethora of advantages steemit has over others which i will list below

• Easy to register and access.
• Enormous arsenal of informations to gain from ranging from technology, business, Politics, Art, human Psychology (Steem inspiration) etc. For instance i learnt how to code on my then mobile phone from steemit. Link to the post
• Self Confidence in writing and expressing oneself.
• Level of financial stability.
• Networking too.
  This are just the few reasons while i decided to join steemit.

PLANS ON STEEMIT

This very quote is also related to this community too because we all excepted to leave steemit better than we joined, with that in mind my plans for steemit are as this.

1. Spread the gospel of steemit to my community.

Like i was introduced to steemit by someone, i'm also introducing others to the platform because our strength is in our numbers. In my campus there are alot of different campus hangout and meetup but none for steemit, my plan is to have a steemit uniuyo campus hangout, already started talking to @joelmaxwell, @ebedossantos and @eddybless and also some steemians i have introduced to the platform @hopemyke and @emelove already we are putting things in place to have the first of many uniuyo steemit campus hangout/meetup.

2. Creating a steemit plagarism tool.

I like steemit for the fact they shone against the use of someone's work (writeup or picture) without acknowledging the original owner. I like the effort they make in kicking against plagarism. As a tech enthusiast, i'm planning on creating a plagarism tool in the form of a bot or script incorporated into steemit. The tool will work in this format if a post is made on steemit, the plagarism tool (PT like i would love to call it) would run the writeup and picture if included online and check for similar writeup or picture using either hardcoding, machine learning or both. Post the links of website or platforms with similar post or pictures in the comment section (autoreply) of the post and the petcentage of similarity.

3. STEEMIT ADDED FEATURES

Here i'm talking about adding some features (through feedback message to the creators and developers of steemit) like videos (short videos maybe 5-10secs). There are people that can create content through short skit like comedy, history, singing, dancing, documentary and as such building the steemit ecosystem.

I believe the sky is not our limit but our starting point if we all work together to leave steemit better than we joined.
