The Diary Game : A Day With My Sister | Alleviating Work Stress

This work week was so heavy. I felt like the tasks were never-ending, my week's to-do list kept on adding new items. To me, things have become extra demanding that I am overstretched, and that, I badly needed to rewind, reset and refresh.

Just on time, yesterday afternoon, my sister offered me "self-pampering" treats which I believe are the ones I truly need with this workweek hustle. Immediately, without hesitation, I readied and moved.

My sister brought me to a salon and we had our toenails done. We spent roughly 2 hours there. I was kinda relaxed and relieved having my nails cleaned and beautified. Actually, going to a salon for a spa session, hair treatment, manicure and pedicure, or any kind of beauty service is one of my outlets to alleviate stress.

From the salon, we headed to a cafe nearby and had some cold coffee and sweets. The cafe is the newest in our place and it's a hybrid photography studio and cafe. So, it combines dining with the studio experience of taking photos in various IG-worthy backgrounds.

Well I had mentioned in one of my previous blogs here in Steemit that cafes are one of my comfort havens like I really love to resort to cafes or coffee shops every time I'm unwell. I don't really know how but to me, the aroma of the brewed and blended coffees is just so therapeutic, it's very calming and relaxing. And that's what usually welcomes me in cafes and coffee shops.

It indeed was a day of de-stressing. I am calmed, relaxed, and relieved. The treats had invigorated me that it felt like I had fully regained the self I lost from the week's hustle, and that's what matters most.
