How do you combat fatigue?

Being fatigue is not unusual for modern society, the reason might be because we all spend a lot of time studying more than 6 hours a day or working 8 hours a day. Often coming back home we still need to prepare food, sometimes parents need to care after their children. Like my colleague today was not able to be concentrated, as her little baby was sick all night long and she spend most of the day with him.

For me there are few common rules to combat fatigue:

  • have a good night sleep and recharge energy, I usually go to bed at 10PM and wake up at 6 AM that is my routine

  • cup of coffee first thing in the morning

  • I try to walk in the morning and not taking car or bus, that gives me a chance to recharge oxygen and also exercise for legs and lungs

  • my weekends are always filled with long walks

What activity causes you the most fatigue?

For me, long lectures are very tiring. Often we do sit for hours and listen. Of course it depends of lecturer, some of them are brilliant nad can present their topics with interacting with auditorium but others are not so good and while speaking they sometimes make some listener tired and sleepy.

When you sleep, do you wake up feeling energetic or tired?

I believe my night sleep depends on my next day, if I expect any tests, any meetings or if I need to hold a speech, my nights often sleepless, I can spend hours rolling from one side to another and also I am angry about myself. I try to convince myself do not think about tomorrow just concentrate of sleep but often that fight with my inner me takes some time and in the morning I am very tired. Other nights if there is nothing stressful I usually fall asleep easier and full of energy the next day.

What do you do to get rid of fatigue?

Regular fitness exercises, at least on weekend definitely I spend an hour first time in the morning with work out machines, then shower and ready for long work. I also feel tired after that but it is different tired, it is more my muscles but my mind ir absolutely rested and fit for any mental work.

My food I try to keep healthy, fresh vegetables without cooking, fruits and salads, again they are rich in Vitamins and nutrients.

Also I meet my friends and have some nice time having fun, you know that laughing prolongs our life.

How do you think fatigue affects your health?

I think in general being fatigue is definitely affecting your health, in the first instance your mental health, you have no energy to carry on with your tasks and often we fail in our study or our bosses are angry and not happy with our results.

Being fatigue, you are not able to carry on with fitness exercise and it is like virtuous cycle, the longer it lasts the more harm we do to our own health. The people feel angry and depressed and that also affects the family life and relationship with family.
