Good day my fellow steemian @hive-168205, I'm so happy to be here , today I'll be participating on a contest organized by @helengutier2 ,themed :Are you allergic to any substance? Tell us which one?

Every human have what they're allergic to ,some don't really know what they're to but it's good getting to know what you're allergic to.

Before I beginning I'll be giving out the definition of what ALLERGIES are

ALLERGIES: allergies are damaged of the immune response to our body cause by substances like food, dust, flowers, fruit, leaves, chemicals and many more.

Are you allergic to any substance? Tell us which one?

I came to realized that I'm allergic to substances like dust, frying Stew ,onions

How did you realize that you were allergic to that substance? What reactions or symptoms did you have?

REALIZING MY ALLERGIES

  • Dust:Dust here is one of the substance that I'm highly allergic, I came to realize that I'm allergic to dust whenever it's the harmattan season, I'll be coughing and sneezing due to the high rate dust in the environment, and sometimes whenever I'm sweeping a long stayed room it'll make me sneeze for a long period of time.

  • Frying Stew: I came to realized that I'm allergic to frying especially frying Stew, anytime my mom or me in person is about to fry stew , the moment my mom will add spices to the groundnut oil on the fire ,it will make me cough , sometimes it do choke me

  • Onions: I do love onions alot but the gases that do come out from the onions while slicing it is one of my allergy, anytime I'm slicing onions i do run into tears and it's always harsh to my eyes

SYMPTOMS OF MY ALLERGIES

ALLERGIESSYMPTOMS
DUST cough, sneezing, running noise (catarrh)
Frying Stew coughing, sneezing, choking,
Onion make me run into tears
How do you control an allergic attack

All my allergic attacks do end up in coughing, sneezing and running noise (catarrh) , so for running noise ,I drink hot tea, drink more fluids, bath regularly with hot water to reduce the running noise.

For sneezing, I take vitamin c,blow my noise often and i take honey if available at the moment . Then for coughing I drink hot tea as well, eat bitter kola, lick TomTom and eat warm food as well

What do you commonly do to avoid coming into contact with the substance that causes your allergy?
  • Dust: During the harmattan season that there's a high rate of dust , especially on the ground, what i mostly do I sometimes sprinkle water on the surface of the ground to limit the dust at that moment I'm going to be around, but also I uses noise mask to prevent the dust from entering into my lungs.

  • Frying stew: i make sure that whenever my mom is about adding the spices into the oil I'll stay out to prevent me from coughing, sneezing and sometimes if I'm the one that's to fry I'll try not to make the oil to be so hot .

  • Onion: whenever I'm slicing the onions I put my eyes away from the onions so that the gases won't get in contact with my eyes and I was advised to be wearing kind of eyes shade to prevent it more from my eyes .

Frying stew... Oh wow!
It is the frying of the spices that is causing it. I know it happens to me also when I fry my spices when I make curry. Luckily, it is just for a short while, and then it is gone.

Best advice for those onions: put them in the fridge or freezer for a while before you cut them. It works perfectly.

Good luck!

Thanks ma for going through my post, I'll try out ur idea for cutting onions.
