Eye allergies, also known as allergic conjunctivitis, occur when the eyes react to animal dander, pollen, and dust. Our body's immune system overreacts to these substances, causing inflammation of the white part of the eye and the thin membrane inside the eye. Common symptoms of this problem include:
- Redness of the eyes
- Itchy eyes
- Watery eyes
- Swollen eyelids
Eye allergies are more common and can occur throughout the year. They are caused by pollen during the season and dust or animal dander all year round.
Have you ever encountered the eyes allergy?
Yes, I personally have experienced eye allergies once, I experienced this problem during the summer. Many people experience this problem when there is a lot of dust in the air. When I experience this problem, my eyes become red, itchy, and watery. Sometimes it felt very uncomfortable, which caused a lot of disruption in normal activities.
How can you cure the eyes allergy?
Although eye allergy cannot be completely cured, it can be controlled with some preventive measures and treatment.
- Avoiding the causes of allergies:
Avoid going out without glasses or sunglasses if there is a lot of pollen in the air.
Keep the house clean and regularly clean the dust.
Stay away from pet hair as much as possible.
Use an air purifier in the room.
Natural and common remedies:
Applying cold water to the eyes: Which helps reduce swelling and itching of the eyes.
Washing the eyes with clean water: Washing the eyes with clean water repeatedly helps to wash away the allergens inside the eyes.
Using sunglasses on the eyes: When we go outside, using sunglasses is beneficial for the eyes. Helps protect the eyes from external dust and pollen
###Treatment Methods
Antihistamine eye drops: Which help reduce itching and redness of the eyes.
Artificial tears: Helps remove allergens from the eyes and maintain moisture in the eyes.
Steroid eye drops: Can be used in case of serious eye problems, but should be used only on the advice of a doctor.
Seeking medical advice: If the problems do not decrease or worsen, an ophthalmologist should be consulted.
Eye allergies are a very common problem in our lives, but this problem can be controlled very quickly if proper care and preventive measures are taken.
