Hello my fellow Steemians.
My name is @sampson01, welcome to my blog.
I am delighted writing because this is going to be my first time posting in this community.
Before I start let begin by appreciating this community @HealthySteem, the entire members and the organizer @abdullahw2. In today's post I will be writing on "My Relationship With Sleep". Let me begin with some insight about sleep.

Sleep is something that we humans normally do especially when our souls are tired, we can find peace, renewal, and comfort in this world of wonder.
Our bodies get heal and our calms down when we fall asleep. The cells in the body are regenerating, our muscles are relaxing, and our minds are processing the events of the day.
Sleep is a healthy lifestyle that is necessary for both our physical and mental health. There are different phases of activity are brain undergoes whenever we sleep , which includes deep sleep, REM sleep, and light sleep.
Let me explain this, deep sleep helps in building muscle, bone and repairs tissues. REM sleep means rapid eye movement; in this sleep, dreams happen while the brain processes emotions, memories, and learning. Light sleep relaxes the body, reduces heart beat and cools the body temperature.
Every phase is essential to our recovery, both mentally and physically. In this world of hardship sleep is often sacrificed for the sake of productivity and busyness.
When we don't get enough sleep, we can experience fatigue, mood disturbance.

Contest Question

How many hours of sleep do you usually get each night, and do you think it’s enough?

Sleeping is good to the body. To be honest, I wish I slept more. I suppose it's acceptable that I normally get about 7 - 9 hours of sleep every night depending what happened that night, but I know that 11 hours is what I need to feel fully rested when really stressed out.

Do you follow any sleep routine (like reading, meditation, avoiding screens)?.

Yes I normally follow sleeping routine. Before I go to bed, I make sure I read something even though it is to read a bible or something that learn from it. Also I do some stretches or meditation, or sometime I listen to gospel music to avoid screens. But I don't stick to this every day . I make an effort to stick to a sleep schedule, but it's not always successful.

What disturbs your sleep the most? (noise, stress, mobile, late-night eating, etc.)

What disturb me the most probably when I get is my phone especially those notification and social media disturb alot. Sometimes I will use apps that block notification for some hours and silence my phone. I can remember the other day when a notification got my attention, before you know I was scrolling through reels instead sleep.
Also another annoying thing that disturb is the mosquito. If I didn't spray or used mosquito net that night, my body and my night will be gone, because mosquito will be tossling bites here and there, before you know it, no sleeping for you. Na you go beat your self anyhow.

Tell us about the negative impacts of not taking enough sleep and positive impacts of taking enough sleep on our health.

Let me start with the positive part
Sleep helps alot
Sleeping refreshes me but it's a natural pill. It helps me focus more attention on what I am, makes me act fast in my daily activities. It repairs the body and strengthen the immune system. Not only this, I feel as if I can handle task very very fast when I get enough sleep.

Negative part
I get sluggish, tired, unfocused, and my immune system gets weaken. If I don't get enough sleep, my mood, energy level and productivity is not normal. Not getting enough sleep is a recipe for disaster because it makes me get attracted to illnesses.

Conclusion, Let's give our bodies and minds the rest they deserve, and wake up feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on the day.
