# Tulsi pata.

Scientific Name of Tulsi (Ocimum Sanctum) Tulsi is a two to three feet high evergreen shrub with dense branches. Its main stem is Castol. Leaves are 2-3 inches long. The edges of the leaves are notched. 5 flower stalks emerge from the tip of the branches and around each flower stalk there are flowers in 10-20 layers like an umbrella shape. Six small flowers bloom on each tier. Its leaves and flowers have a pungent smell. Tulachi is a medicinal plant. Tulsi means incomparable. It is used as a cold cough dewormer and carminative and urinary digestive agent and antiseptic. However, Tulsi is very effective especially in diseases caused by phlegm.

Uses:

Tulsi plant has many medicinal uses. Tulsi is used for various problems such as colds and coughs. The medicinal parts of this plant are its leaf juice and seeds. The four types of Tulsi trees found in Bangladesh are Babu Tulsi, Ram Tulsi, Krishna Tulsi and White Tulsi.

# Properties of Tulsi leaves.

  1. Keeps pancreatic cells healthy to prevent diabetes, diabetic patients will benefit by chewing 2-4 tulsi leaves every morning.
  2. If the stomach is upset, eat 10 tulsi leaves mixed with a little cumin 3-4 times, the bowel will be closed one by one.
  3. If you have a fever, mix tulsi leaves, red pepper and misri in water and boil it well or mix the three ingredients to make a pill. Eat the pill with water three to four times a day. The fever will be cured very quickly.
  4. If the cough does not decrease, it will be beneficial to eat basil leaves and ginger beet mixed with honey.
  5. Chewing basil leaves and drinking juice on an empty stomach in the morning increases the taste of food.
  6. Regular consumption of Tulsi juice is beneficial for heart disease, etc
