My personal experience of tension headache

Since I spend much time reading and working on the computer, I have been experiencing severe tension headaches. The pain often comes as a pressure and tightness around my forehead, aching to my neck and shoulder region.

I often experience the pain about 2 to 4 times in a week. At the start, it will come as mild pain but will later become severe, making me weak and depressed that I might take a break from any activity I was carrying out at that moment.

I later noticed the causes of my tension headache, the main cause which is prolonged reading and screen time which may cause eye strain leading to tension headache. Especially when working on the computer, my posture can contribute to the cause of the pain.

I decided to take prevention measures which will help alleviate this pain. I started by taking regular breaks from my activities, after using the computer for a while, I will get up and stretch my body a little, this helps to reduce eye strain and relax muscles. I also maintained a good posture while working on the computer by sitting upright. I also undergo exercises to reduce stress which may lead to tension headaches

Tension headaches might be so irritating at most times, but I have learned to overcome them by taking some preventive measures and being cautious of my activities which will help reduce the tension headache.
