Steemit Engagement Challenge / S11W2 - “The worst enemy, sugar."

in Healthy Steemlast year

Hello Healthy Steem family,
I am very happy to meet you through the Steemit Engagement Challenge. Since I am very interested in this week's challenge topic and I often have problems, the topic attracted my attention and I decided to participate in the competition.

Do you know how much sugar you consume per day?
First of all, I know that the World Health Organization's daily recommended amount is 25 g and I try to follow it. But let's face it, if you are a dessert lover like me, this amount is too low. Although I probably exceed 25 g during the day, I don't know the exact amount.

Do you have a family member who has problems with diabetes?

Unfortunately, I have to sadly answer yes to this question. My father has Type 1 Diabetes. His fasting sugar level is 400 mg/dl. In a healthy individual, this value should be 70-100 mg/dl, so my father is far above the healthy range.

Although he uses insulin to reduce this value, he cannot reduce this value much because he does not pay much attention to his diet. When I empathize, I can understand this situation, because someone in this situation needs to follow a very strict diet. Not only processed sugars but also the natural sugars in foods like fruits, rice, and potatoes.

Have you had a problem with sugar?

Although diabetes runs in my family, I have not yet encountered such a problem until this age. However, I know that diabetes occurs at a later age, so I am aware that I am a potential diabetic.
Especially when I try to diet, I have a lot of difficulty even though I try to minimize my sugar consumption. Unfortunately, I admit that I have a sugar addiction. Sometimes I have sugar crises and I consume sugar excessively in those periods. When I have such sugar crisis, I try to consume dried fruits such as apricots, plums, and raisins to suppress these crises. At least in this way, I choose relatively healthier alternatives.

What do you think about sugar as the worst enemy?

I am of the opinion that sugar is the sweetest poison. So I agree with the thesis that sugar is the worst enemy.
From my own experience, when I consume sugar, I experience short-term satiety, but this satiety does not last long. If I don't pay attention to my sugar intake, I quickly gain weight and can't control my appetite.

I invite my dear friends @busraca, @lanegra2804 and @serap to this challenge.

I wish everyone a healthy day

This is my achievement 1 post.

Well, if sugar is a sweet poison that surrounds us, we really have to have a lot of will for our inheritance, it is best to take good options to reduce those cravings.

I hope your father continues to control himself, it is a disease that requires a lot of care.

greetings
